The PG released a story that DT has a torn ACL. I've talked to a couple of people and all agreed that he didn't look the same after coming back from the MCL injury. Seemed a step slow and he was'nt as effective as he had been earlier in his career. A great motor guy when healthy. Get well DT and don't rush things to get back. Health is for the rest of your life.
"Thirteen months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay junior forward Daniel Turner has sustained the same injury to his left knee.
He'll miss the rest of the season.
Turner landed awkwardly in the opening minute of Saturday's win at Loyola. He already was wearing a brace on his left knee because of the torn MCL he sustained on Nov. 20 at Idaho. That injury kept him out for seven games.
Turner returned from that injury and moved back into the starting lineup, having started the last six games. Though he averaged only 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14 games this season, he's a team captain and one of UWGB's emotional leaders.
Early indications were that Turner's injury wasn't serious but an MRI performed yesterday revealed the tear.
He tore the ACL in his right knee on Dec. 31, 2011, but returned in time for the start of this season.
UWGB, which lost sophomore forward Josh Humphrey to a knee injury in the preseason, will be down to 10 players for Thursday's key Horizon League game against Wright State. UWGB and Wright State are tied for third in the conference at 6-4 with just six league games remaining.
Sophomore point guard Keifer Sykes, UWGB's leading scorer, is expected to return to practice this afternoon after missing the second half against Loyola because of a sprained left ankle."
