Yeah, that's a big no-no in officiating. Definitely crosses the line of professionalism. I don't do NCAAB d1 or anything, but the only engagement with a fan is polite thank you for catching an out of bounds ball. You have to be able to control your emotions, every call you make will make half of the people watching happy, and half of them mad...It is totally unprofessional to call out a fan on what they are doing. In most sports, the coaches can be held responsible for the actions of the fans, and can be disciplined as such. Glad I missed that, or I would have been yelling at my monitor.

Yet I'd take what Skiles did 100 times out of 100 over Kissenger. I'd rather have a ref get into it with a fan than one who was screamed at by our coach non stop. Kessinger looked like he had been compromised. He was getting lots of strange looks from the other officials, and then they started over-ruling him. Ugly scene all around.
