Marquette (7-2) @ Green Bay (3-7) Check out Brian Dickman's game previewI was jacked for this game before this debacle of a season started. Anyone think we have a chance to win it now?

Sadly, I dont think so. With a fully healthy and fully eligible squad at home in front of a sold out arena then absolutely we would have a chance. Now, none of those three things are true. Marquette opened as a 6 point favorite and it has quickly ballooned to a 8.5 to 9 point favorite. I'm just hoping for a good game as it sounds like this may be MU's last trip to Green Bay for quite awhile

I am here for a hearty helping of crow to go along with the Miller Lite's that will be flowing for the rest of the night. Incredible heart by this team to continue fighting. With only 8 guys suited up, they absolutely took the right approach to slow the game down and it worked really well.
Keifer Sykes was absolutely the best player on the floor tonight.
Lets keep it going! Hopefully this is the equivalent of the Houston game for the Packers. Nobody expected them to win and then they did and it turned around their season

Great night at the Resch Center. Big, loud crowd, and the Phoenix earn the victory. Kiefer Sykes continues his dominant play, and Greg Mays jumps at his new opportunity. Mays with 11 points 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Phoenix played a packed in zone and made Marquette try to beat them from long range. PF Jamil Wilson hit 4 triples, but the rest of the Eagles laid brick. Vander Blue has as ugly and flat jumper as you'll ever see from a high major guard.
Much needed victory for coach Wardle, and a fun night to be a Phoenix fan.
Marquette didn't win any fans after this game, as they left without shaking hands. Stay Classy!

Green Bay target Matt Heldt, a 6'10" sophomore from Neenah took in this game. Green Bay commits Turner Botz and Kenneth Lowe also attended the victory.

One of the most gratifying defeats I ever witnessed at the RC.
Buzz has really toned down his sideline demeanor this year.... must be on a short leash with this administration.

Have seen Heldt this year, but not up close. He walked by at halftime and he is a legit 6'10". Unfortunately, he will not play in the Horizon league, but I give GB credit for trying. He probably had a good time in that lockerroom after the game.

@shooting the J - I live across the state, and I have to work today, so I couldn't make that game.
I didn't see this one coming. Hopefully, this will turn around GB's season.
Any word on when Dan Turner is coming back? With him and Cole Stefan becoming eligible, that will help offset the loss of Cougs (assuming he may not be able to return).....I would like to know what he did to get an indefinite suspension. I'm sure it's more than skipping classes or being late to team functions.
When and if all of the injured/suspended players come back, do you think BW will stay with the lineup he had last night?

They only had 1 period at the end of the 1st half that they struggled(went from 25-16 to 25-26). Kiefer came out in the 2nd half and made sure we didn't have our usual 2nd half start. Mays has really shown he deserved to play more. Love and Fouse had their moments but played better than what I expect of Freshman. Kam made a big 3 and a very unusual twisting, leaning 10-15 footer but looked a little slow on defense. All in all a great night for the Phoenix. Yes Blues shot is pure uggggggly. Buzz Williams was a total Azz running off the floor after the game. He just about ran over a reporter tring to get pictures after the game. Really classless considering Wardle had put in his time with Marquette and should have been shown some respect. The only other down note was unlike Saturday BC was not on the bench? Good article in the Milwaukee paper saying Marquette doesn't want to ever come back to GB. Also says Buzz shook hands with Wardle, maybe I missed it when we were celebrating in the stands? He said he didn't shake hands with the players because he didn't want to interrupt their celebration. Well that was very nice of him lol. Also the paper said they were out coached by 2 exMarquette products.

A good win for the team. Not just because it was Marquette but because they over came a lot. Fresh off a tough loss, fresh off losing a starter, down to 8 bodies and losing momentum in the first half again. They dug in and played a great effort game. The best players stepped up in the end when GB needed it.
I am ready to see more Greg Mays. He played well out west and he showed a lot in this game as well. Not a true skilled player but he is coordianted and athletic enough to make his mark. I am hoping he can fill some big shoes.
Also, the box score might not indicate it but Jordan Fouse is going to be big. Arenz isn't ready to go but having Jordan be big enough and strong enough to fill in on the front line is a big deal right now.

I would bet money that Syracuse used the tape of GB winning over and over in preparing for Marquette. I think a lot of teams missed this when playing Marquette this year or didn't have the personnel to pull it off. I do believe wins start from defense which sets up the offense. That's why I hope BW learned that with a defensive stop let the offense transition for the win. We did it in the playoffs and Valpo did it against us.
