With Noah gone I think the team we thought we would see last year and the team we saw at the end of the year will show up this year.
You can’t just replace a player of the year with another one especially when you’re a mid major like gb.
My prediction is we see the growing pains we expected last year all season and this team finishes with 12-13 wins but is a tough out every night.
2025-26 is when I think Sunny takes the step that gets him a promotion, provided Douglas and Hall stay and are a formidable 1-2 punch to go along with Bennett.
Now if Sunny can get a 6-8 or 6-9 transfer that’s built and a force inside I would reconsider my prediction for this year. But unfortunately he doesn’t seem interested in doing that for some reason. I hate to say it but how good would this team have been with a Cade Meyer this year? He can’t shoot for shit but down low he was a force which is what they need.

Interesting even with all the new players Bennet doesn’t redshirt I hope not I watched him play in the state championship game with stitches in his lip. He’s tough.

It’s way too early with all the moving parts of the transfer portal to make any sort of realistic prediction. Let the dust settle after the Phoenix add a handful of impact players and compare the moves that the rest of the league made.

The program is very interested in getting big men via the portal.
Those guys have the most recruiting options of anyone, even the below average guys.
There are loads of 10 ppg guards but only so many 6'9" guys that can contribute. GB unfortunately has to look for guys that are diamonds in the rough and even those guys have lots of options.
I would expect them to end up with some big guys with efficient stats but low volume that need to prove they are 20+ mpg players.

With five or six open scholarships we cannot make an intelligent projection of the 24-25 season. Noah Reynolds was a catalyst type player who made others better and opened up the court for open three point shots. All it takes is one special player to provide the spark. The Nix have something to offer a post player that other schools might not have -- pretty well assured court time if they have a work ethic.

Well this topic was timely, Cole Henry should have a solid impact for this team next season. I’m not going to pretend I know anything about his game, but his size alone should help him have success in the Horizon. Also feels good to finally see a transfer join the team. Definitely a good start to the portal season.

He has not had much impact at Northern Iowa, but he had a lot of offers out of high school. A change of scenery and a coaching staff who believes in him may be just what he needs to excel. He was a quarterback in high school, and it sounds like he is an excellent passer and unselfish player. GB can certainly use his size in the middle.

Cole Henry (6-9 forward from Northern Iowa) announced he’s transferring to GB. He averaged 3 ppg and 11 minutes a game there. Seems like a solid pick up for GB.

Seems like a solid pick up for GB. I don’t know how I feel about this one. I feel like Sunny’s MO is going after guys no one else wants. That may have worked his first year but after his success he should be able to do a little better than a guy who barely played. I’d rather see him go after a guy that scored a lot but is coming off an injury or something. That said I’m glad he at least got someone with some beef. Hopefully this guy is more like of a down low presence and less of a Rich Byrne.

Numbers don't always tell the story. Putting together a team is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Henry is the son of a coach, he is intelligent, well versed in fundamentals and mature. He will be a leader on this team, a big brother to the younger guys. One of the strong aspects of his game is passing and that should help get open looks for the team's outside shooters. I saw an interview with Henry from a couple of years ago. He is well spoken and super polite. That suggests to me his parents raised a young man who has his life together -- an asset in a group of young men coming of age as people and players. I posted this video in the recruiting section but will repost here.

His career fg% is 54.6, so he definitely does any scoring at the rim. He does handle the ball on the perimeter which the GB big men did a lot of last year. I'd imagine Wicks would love to get get big guys that jump off the page but that isn't going to happen with big guys for mid majors with limited NIL. Faizon Fields looked pretty good last year and he was 5 pt and 4 board guy off the bench for Old Dominion the year before.

There are interesting transfer Wisconsin bigs Gus Yalden who looks like Antshak. Leon bond. And Patrick Suemnick. Even the guys there looking at the international guys Milos from the d2 school and Jovan siu. There skilled. Danilo jonakovich from Louisville who’s from Milwaukee could bring shooting as a big.

The deadline to put your application is Sunday. Someone said Jordan McCabe. At West Virginia he was a player development coach. He was a talented point guard having him and rahmoen Fletcher teach players during practice would be great. From two great point guards there knowledge of basketball. Basketball iq on offense. The offense would be improved.
