It is a bummer that Antchak is leaving. I felt like his tape was pretty impressive coming in. I think there was potential there, he just wasn’t ready to contribute quite yet - which is pretty common for bigs being recruited at this level. His size and frame is something we haven’t had a lot of. The last player I can recall with that solid of a frame, someone coming in around 250lbs, was Tevah Morris (I’m sure I’m forgetting some in between then and now). I think he would have been a solid player in a few years.

BJ Freeman taking a similar approach to Noah Reynolds and entering the portal while feeling out his draft status is. However, it sounds like his chances of returning to MKE might be more slim than Noah returning to GB. Neither of them are coming back. The word on the street is that BJ has already been offered $400k by one school. Townsend was supposedly offered $500k, but I saw Kampe said it's more like $250-275k. And I'd expect Townsend to probably get more than Freeman on the NIL market. Either way, high-majors are getting their NIL sh*t together. Freeman's already talking to Kentucky too. I will say that I don’t mind seeing him leave MKE, but losing a player of that caliber out of the league is never a good thing. Seeing so many 1st and 2nd all conference players transferring out is of the Horizon sucks - though I completely understand their decisions. This is the reality for all of us now. We need to hold onto who we can and supplement it with incoming players. The potential of $100k or more at that age could really make an impact. Unfortunately, I think there may be just as many negative impacts as positive ones in the long term. There are a lot of incentives for these young adults to drop everything in search of quick money and greener grass. However, using that method throughout your life usually doesn’t lead to good results. I can’t help but feel that NIL and the ease of transfers is encouraging behaviors that will be harmful in time. It's hard to fit a black hat on people because they're not tied down to one school for four years. They can get life changing money now, legally, by playing a kid's game for a different school. We don't have to like it but at least it brought the shady dealings into the light and now it's just business. Oh and Milwaukee fans believe they will get Noah Reynolds? That’s not happening. Sorry to burst that bubble. That bubble never existed. No one at Milwaukee has talked about getting Noah Reynolds. If anything the spot Reynolds would have taken was just filled by AJ McKee a few days ago.

I meant like Milwaukee fans. Said Milwaukee is getting Noah Reynolds. According to jake Lieberman uwgb is interested in guard Jeremiah Hernandez. From southern Indiana. Averaged 17 ppg. Only shot 30% from three not great. But would bring a talented player.

I just don't understand Byhre leaving GB after Sunny got him his shot at D-1 and the team did well and he was a solid contributor. And being from Waukesha, to leave GB and go to Minneapolis? What will St. Thomas offer him in his last year that GB couldn't? I suppose it could be education-related, but it just seems odd to me on a number of fronts.

It is hard to know what an individual's priorities might be. I am afraid for too many of theses nearly 2,000 transfers getting a college degree is getting lost in the shuffle. This is just a crazy time in college athletics with a Wild West mentality. Add to all that dealing with teenagers and early 20-something young people whose frontal lobes have yet to fully develop -- maybe we should give up being college sports fans and take up video gaming.
That that said I won't judge any individual student/athlete for making a life choice as long as it doesn't involve breaking the law.

Byhre is good person player with coach malvik leaving guessing why Connor Dillon from wionna state committed to Bradley. Can’t wait for uwgb to fill these 6 open scholarships. Steven clay from uic he’s from Wisconsin maybe?

What are the transfer options for uwgb with Dillon committing to Bradley and counter has his final 2 teams? Maybe a horizon on horizon crime they are interested in Vincent Bradley or the plateville player Logan Pearson.

It sure does make it harder for a college sports fan to stay engaged with their favorite team. It's one thing for little-used bench warmers to want to look for an opportunity to play somewhere else, but when front line players leave, it just makes one wonder if it's worth buying tickets, buying the gear and following the team at all. We all enjoy sports and cheering for the "local" team, but part of the enjoyment is cheering for and supporting the players. If they're going to show no loyalty and desire to stay with the team and all we're relegated to doing is watching their breakout year knowing that they're gone to the highest bidder as soon as the season is over, it ruins the sports experience.
I said early on in the NIL process that the transfer portal and NIL dollars would deeply harm mid-major programs like the teams in the Horizon League. Do you think for one second that Keifer Sykes would have played four years for GB if the portal had been around back then? How about Jeff Nordgaard? Tony Bennett might have even considered it. And there are dozens of other players who would have transferred. Mid-major sports are left to hit a lucky year to be successful. They can't develop a true "team" when they're constantly scrambling to find players to fill a roster. They are almost like the Green Bay Rockers and other teams in the Northwoods League. A bunch of faceless players with varying levels of talent that wear a uniform with Green Bay on the front. You cheer for them, but you're really cheering to watch and enjoy the sport with no real knowledge of anyone on the team.
I'm not sure what the answer is. Hopefully there are people who are WAY smarter than me working behind the scenes to make college sports better than they are today. I've enjoyed sports my entire life and will likely still attend GB games as I can, as well as Badgers games and Marquette games, but when I see guys like Noah Reynolds and AJ Storr transferring after one season when we enjoyed their talents, both individually and with the team, it's very frustrating.

The game has changed. The portal brought us Noah and now will be taking Noah away. The bright side is now GB has a chance at a player like Jackson Paveltzke.
In the old days he would have stayed at Wofford. Now he moved up to a high level, has entered the portal again and seems likely to end up at a mid major.
I don't know if that mid major for Jackson is GB. Even if it isn't, there will be some other player that saw what Noah did and say I want that to be me.
I think this world will take adjusting to but it doesn't have to be the death of fan interest.

The current situation must make it nearly impossible for a large percentage of transfers to get a college degree. Issues like transfer credits and degree requirements vary so much from school to school. At some point I hope student/athletes put a priority of what will serve them best in the long run.

Green Bay has 2 players for the All- Freshman team returning. When was the last time that happened? I'm surprised some continue to act like the roster completely incinerated.
