Lose this game seasons over simple as that. Win and lock up a top four seed.
Time for the team to show if they are a fluke and peaked in Feb or will be a real problem come March.

How is the season over if they lose today lol come on now. On the flip side, if they win today and Wright State beats Oakland - not out of the realm of possibility - we are basically back in a tie for first place. Even if they lose out they still have a decent chance at a top 4 spot (play around with the scenarios here: bball.notnothing.net/horizon.php?sport=mbb) but let’s just win this one and see how the next 7 days play out.

What an idiotic post from a troll who was MIA during the winning streak. I still like this poster better than YayPhoenixYay.

Based on the past decade, finishing second or fourth place statistically gives GB the best chance of winning the Horizon League tournament. Hopefully the results in the final week help us land one of those seeds.

Going into the season my hope was simply to be competitive in every league game. The Nix did that except for Friday night. If the squad is healthy heading into the Horizon League Tournament, I like their chances. Of course we all want more, especially after suffering through some pretty pathic seasons. As far as I'm concerned they are playing on house money the remainder of the year.

What recent years have told us is that the #1 seed doesn’t win the HL tourney very often.

Overall that was another pretty ugly half. Offense didn’t look good and the defense gave up too many offensive rebounds. Could be worse than only being down 7 but the final minute or two saved them from being down double digits.

Season over. This team peaked too early. They’ve stopped playing defense and stop making shots. The last three games they’ve given up way too many easy shots and everything is way too hard for them. With or without Reynolds this team is broken.
Top priority needs to get a big. This team has zero inside game

This is becoming a disappointing end to what has otherwise been a pretty awesome season. The fact we couldn’t even play a close game this weekend is a little embarrassing. I get that their best player is out, but if you’re going to call out the fans to show up to games, you should probably make sure the players show up too. Still two games left to try and get some momentum back going into the postseason.

If Reynolds gets healthy, Green Bay has a good of chance as anyone to win the conference tournament and go to the big dance. Green Bay remains only 1 loss behind 1st place.

It’s blind homerism to not admit this hasn’t been the same team the last month. They very easily could have lost at Robert Morris and Youngstown as well. Yes they are a game out of first. But they are also tied for second and only a game ahead of third and fourth. Going 0-3 at home cannot happen and it did. Now they will be lucky to spilt the next two games even with Reynolds. It’s a very real scenario this team could finish fifth and not even get a home game which seemed unthinkable a month ago. Trolls don’t go to both games this weekend and bring new people to try to get to support Phoenix basketball. I’m just a realistic fan that has seen this program choke more often than not the last 25 years and it depresses the hell out of me. For as much pride and prestige this program has they’ve had worse success recently than a NKU team that just became d1 less than ten years ago. Fans showed up like Sunny wanted them to last two games too. Players gave them nothing to cheer about. Team has gone ice cold at the wrong time

Trolls are here. If you are starting to build something special the trolls will show.
Love to see it.

I made the point earlier about the "call to arms" being a bad look and I still believe that to be true. Focusing on things that have nothing to do with winning and on-court performance are usually counterproductive. However, it is obvious that without Reynolds it is not the same team. Injuries happen. It is on the staff and team to battle through it. In the end all that matters is the conference tournament and being as well prepared for that as possible.

The call to arms was focusing on the team. Asking to create a home court advantage should help the team win.
There are several arenas in this league that the crowd makes a difficult factor to overcome.
As we know from seeing the team win in some of those places and then lose at home with decent crowds it isn't the only determining factor.
In this game they really needed Noah. Nobody else on the team can consistently break down the defense for himself or others like Noah.
Another issue was Reid was in the game instead of in foul trouble. GB doesn't have two guys that can match up with him and Burns at the same time. Burns actually played within himself and didn't take the bait after missing a few early jumpers.
Unlike PFW where the team got steamrolled, this time they were ready to play from a mental perspective.

They very easily could have lost at Robert Morris and Youngstown as well. In the last month they've went 5-3, including win over 1st place Oakland, and beat YSU on the road without Reynolds. 2 of the losses were without Reynolds, and the other was when Reynolds had just returned from the flu, hadn't practiced, and ran out of gas at the end of a 2 point loss. The team is in a great place if they can get Noah back.
