Very disappointing game. Luckily they have a chance to make it right in a little over 24 hours.
They shot like they haven’t played in that gym in months….wait a second we haven’t.

They literally practice there year round. Been following this team for about a decade and everytime we move back to the Kress at the end of the year it never ends well. It’s a hill I will die on. Play all you want at the Kress at the start of the year but don’t CHANGE everything by swapping gyms when you could be competing for a championship.

I am by no means a fan of playing these late season games at the Kress but to be fair, PFW hasn’t played in the Kress lately either and it didn’t seem to affect their shooting.
Also, I get trying for the element of surprise and not wanting to hurt the walk up attendance but if Reynolds got hurt on Wednesday, why not report that - or leak that news to Venci or Kyle Malhzan or somebody - to help manage expectations a little bit. “Next man up, we need everyone to step up and need our crowd even more” ect ect. Instead the news was trickling in on social media right before tip or people were finding out as they’re getting to their seats and it was a huge letdown, maybe took some air out of the building. Just my 2 cents.
Just a whole lot of negativity and bad vibes around this game. Looking forward to turning the page and good vibes tomorrow. They have already proven they can beat YSU without Reynolds.

At the end of 2019’s season they won three straight games at the Kress in route to the CIT finals. Trying to blame the Kress is a pretty lame excuse.

Not trying to blame the Kress, just don’t like the optics of it all. Also that was a stress free CBI, different than competing for a horizon league championship/top 4 seed.

The venue change is what it is, the game could have been on the moon and I'm not sure the results are different with that particular effort and execution.
A larger issue with the venue change is that it couldn't handle 3500 people very well. That type of crowd is where the program will be all of the time with sustained success and if anything this put to rest any Kress/Resch debate for me.

Why does everyone like Resch over the Kress? Truly interested in learning.

Why does everyone like Resch over the Kress? Truly interested in learning. As someone who used to travel from Appleton for all home games. It always seemed much more convenient. At one time there was enough game day traffic from the valley to be very noticeable. I later moved just north of the university and I still preferred the game day experience at the Resch. Even though the Resch seemed much more convenient from Appleton, time wise it is probably only 10 or 15 minutes different.

Why does everyone like Resch over the Kress? Truly interested in learning. 1.) People in the area act like driving 15-20 minutes is 2 hours 2.) no bars or restaurants around the kress like the resch. Went to the one spot last night (black sheep) and it was a 40 minute wait at 4:45 because everyone from the game was there before the game. 3.) The kress has 2 concessions for 4K people horrible design that can’t handle that many people
