For the first time in history, some of the greatest fans of the Horizon League have come together to vote in a weekly poll on the "power rankings" of Horizon League basketball. The poll, run through my own PantherU.com, will be published every Monday morning throughout the season until the conference tournament. We have representatives from every school in the Horizon League, knowledgable fans who come from the world of media, blogs, and message boards. From Green Bay, the representative is Brian Dickmann of Phear the Phoenix. Link: Horizon League Power Poll 11.5.12Link: Forum discussion with comments from the panel

The pollsters already have egg on their face for ridiculously moving Milwaukee up so high after just 1 division 1 win. Milwaukee was blasted last night by lowly Arkansas-Little Rock.

I have to admit I laughed after I first read this thread. I almost didn't come back in to read your accurate response. I didn't argue with 1-3 but after that it was laughable. Even Detroit has alot of question marks.

YSU and uwm with step back losses. Lets see how they recover.
I am not sure who CSU has beat but I don't recall being too impressed by their schedule and would expect a fat record.
I thought UIC would score higher in that poll.

I'm interested in seeing the next poll. 2-7 is a total toss-up after Valpo. Big distance between the top 7 and the bottom 2. Big question is, who's last? With 3 straight losses to the likes of Arkansas-Little Rock, Jacksonville, and Rider, I'd have to go with Milwaukee. 2 of those games weren't even close.

By the way I happen to agree, I just knew I'd come on here to find you stumping for Milwaukee to be voted 9th.

We deserve it. There's no cohesion, and until Friday we didn't see much passion since the Davidson game.
Still have a real problem with extended droughts.
I predict UIC will be the #1 team this week.

The next poll should have Valpo and Loyola at the top. UIC is fading right now. Cleveland State and Milwaukee should be at the bottom. In the middle I would have Wright State 3, UIC 4, Detroit 5, GB 6 and YSU 7.
Despite a poor start for the season, GB does have two of the more impressive RPI wins for the HL (NDSU and Marquette). I think the best wins for the league right now are UIC over Northwestern. Loyola over Depaul. Valpo over Murray State. GB over Marquette.
