I know some of you probably have SNC winning, I'm taking GB by a boatload. The Wicks era is here, let's go! That would be a small boat. That said GB will be much better than last year and so will SNC. I can say with a high level of confidence that the first mate, second mate, third mate, boatswain and chief engineer either didn't play or play as much as they will due to injuries on a night where the sea captain wasn't able to finish the game. The team GB would normally have would roll SNC. Instead there were large periods of time with 3 true freshman and a red shirt freshman playing major roles that they normally might not have. They all did some good things and they got some experience and can build from here. If that was GB's best lineup at this point I'd be a lot more concerned than I am.

Perhaps, but being a successful program also means keeping your players healthy in practice. Practice should have juice but that many injuries seems excessive for pre-season. It sounds like Ruedinger will be out for an extended period of time. The injury last night, while in a game, didn't look good either. I did like what I saw from the Phoenix on both ends of the floor simply because they had a plan and idea of what they wanted to do.

You have to be more healthy against Iowa state. Uwgb needs cc, Preston, rich. And i only listened on radio of the second half but Ryan Wade did not play a lot. I hope in his final year he plays more in his final he’s a good shooter I’m going to guess he’s better defender then foster wonders.

Time for the review you have all been waiting for:
Was an ugly game but I am not going to worry too much. The injuries are all that concerns me. Preston being in a boot and on a scooter is concerning. No idea on the injuries but appeared CC3 and Rich were not banged up too bad. Hoping reynolds is just cramps as stated above and that eames injury is just an ankle that isnt as bad as it looked. As far as the game goes, you could tell there was inexperience with those on the floor but also that this team is far more talented than those of the last couple years. Size concerned me as the front line isnt overly big and outside of big canada they got pushed around a bit. Amari brings great energy and activity but needs to play much stronger. Foster Wunders needs to see minutes this year and a good amount of them. We haven't had a shooter like him in a while. DJ had some good moments as well and has a bright future. Hall really impressed me with his activity on the offensive boards and his ability to shoot. Reynolds had a slow start but got going as the game went on. Reality of the situation is, he needs to be on the floor and scoring 15+ for this team to have success for anyone. It was hard to get a feel for what the rotation will be with so many injuries last night, but Ryan Wade either needs to knock down the outside shot or have not see significant minutes. I really was hoping he made strides since last year and that was not what i saw last night. Hoping it was just an off night and he proves me wrong.
Outside of the game on the floor comes my biggest gripe of the whole game. I was sitting in the 6th row right behind the broadcast table with Cordero at center court. Whoever was sitting in 5th decided they had the nerve to turn around and tell us we were being too obnoxious and loud. Let me tell you on a scale of 0-10 we were a 0.5 of how loud we were being. By far the calmest in the last 10 years as it was an exhibition game and not bud light night vs UWM and no one before has ever said a word. This is a college sporting event, not a graveyard. If the kress is going to turn into the fist 10 rows being people are going to sit there in silence and cry about people getting into the game then we got issues. Being loud should be encouraged, especially with the excitement around the program. The last thing we need is it to turn into a graveyard. I hope whoever was in front of me isn't on these boards and that this never happens again.

Listening on the radio, I was encouraged by the rebounding and three-point shooting. Missed free throws definitely a problem, but I believe this team has too many good shooters for that to be a continuing problem. Overall, I expect this team to be much better than last year and more fun to watch.

Gbtruther, I don’t know who was in front of you, but it sounds like I was just behind you and I definitely didn’t hear or see anything I thought was out of line.
