Can someone please explain to me why krash the kress is tonight and not on Saturday? I will take a stab at this. Back in the day the GB alumni association had a board and volunteers and their own money to spend. That group was a driving force behind the early Krash the Kress events. That board has been disbanded from what I understand and the event is now focused on current students and getting them to the games. Which if that is accurate would make sense for the Thursday night time frame given how many people leave for the weekends.

I was more so thinking of it from the alumni and community perspective. I would imagine its a trade off where they lose a lot more of the alumni and community members by making it on Thursday.

It is fair to say it went from being a cool thing and a big deal to pretty much just another game on the slate. I believe I understand why that happened, though I agree with you and don't like it!

I just popped on to the Ticketstar site and there are tons of tickets available, which would back up what you just said GBP1. I was hoping this would be the college-age equivalent of the grade-school full house at the Resch when we played IUPUI, but it doesn't look like it. I remember going to a Krash event years ago - it was UIC and the place was absolutely filled to capacity. Everyone got free shirts. I also see the game this Saturday night is a beer night, so I suppose they might shy away with having beer night with the student-focused Krash event.
As for tonight's game, we're getting 11 points, give or take a half based on which book you look at. Oakland is mid-pack in the conference standings, they've had a few good conference wins. Obviously we'll all be curious to see if we can carry over some momentum from Monday night's big win.

Hopefully the guys can keep playing loose and with the same swagger that they had on Monday night. It's OK to show emotion and have fun!
Along those same lines, I hope the team has not forgotten about Oakland's bush league dunk in the waning seconds of the first meeting.
Also, Greg Kampe is fun. It would be nice if his mind is still focused on the beer brat soup that he had last night instead of the game:

Thanks for sharing. Kind of cool to hear other teams actually having to prepare for the Phoenix.

Looks like GB Krashed into the Kress before the game.
14-0 run in first half and 19-0 run in second half won’t get it done on any planet of basketball.
I like Freddie better than Will and think they may have won 3-4 more games this year with him vs Will but this just isn’t a good enough team offensively.
Other than Cade Meyer I’m fine if everyone transfers quite honestly. Maybe Donovan Short with a different coach since this staff clearly doesn’t think he was a big time recruit.

Sorry guys, didn’t watch at Stadium View this time, there was some hillbilly concert at the Resch so the place was too packed to sit and watch at.

I attempted to watch a replay of this game via ESPN+ and all that seemed available was 151 minutes of blank screen with a few advertisements. Did the live stream work?

GB went 8 minutes without scoring in the first half and 11 minutes without scoring in the second half.
There isn't much to say about the game when they didn't score for that long. In some ways I'm surprised they scored 47 points.
He didn't have the best night but I did appreciate DZ shooting well from deep again.
They tried to score in transition more but for the most part they seemed to struggle there too. If the replay is unavailable I would say that might be better for your eyes as this was not a pretty game offensively.

This team just can’t shoot and truly runs no discernible offense. The Phoenix got it to 37-34 with just under 15 minutes to play with a chance to tie, but then went on an 11 minute drought, while Oakland ran off 19 straight to put the game away. Freddie brings energy to the game, but the team also takes the fans out of the game with piss poor shooting, no cutting passes, and lack of good screens. It’ll need to be a total make-over for next year.

It is entirely possible I wasn't paying enough attention for parts of the season but it does appear that the team has added some more set plays over the past few weeks.
We have seen some side elevator plays on base line out of bounds opportunities as well as some horns action in the half court.
I go back and forth on this in my mind. Back in the TK days they had a mountain of set plays but by the end of the year the best plays were scouted and therefore defended well when GB needed them most.
Then you have the more modern free flowing offense but that requires guys to be able to make reads and plays on their own. It is fair to say it is hard to make a play when you can't take someone off the dribble or don't move the ball fast enough to move the defense and get the defense out of position. Both have been troublesome for GB.
I'm not sure what way is better for the next coach. I do know know that some of these guys probably will be a fit and some will not. Until we know the new coaches philosophy it is hard to predict where to build from.
