If Zae isn't the permanent starter going forward we need to riot.

That dunk by Short was all I needed to see today to make the day better. Get that man some more minutes.

1:05 left - trying to run out the clock with our patented 5-guard lineup

Well we officially aren’t the worst team in the country.

Not only did the boys get the W, but also got the cover. As bad as the season has been it sure does feel good to get a W no matter who it is against. Also, thank god we have Zae Blake. He is fun to watch.

Well we officially aren’t the worst team in the country. Great strategy by us to let them shoot 3-point attempts

A few thoughts:
1. I am not a big fan of the education game at least from a purist standpoint. However, I have to give credit where credit is due and 4000 kids is an impressive display. Some serious effort went in to making that happen. If some of those kids had fun and come back that is even better. Hopefully nobody gets ideas that this is how every game should be. The focus of the program still has to be on winning and getting paying customers back.
2. They still managed a negative assist to turnover rate. That works against IUPUI but probably not against Loyola.
3. No Heffner, Rose or Dailey. I was a bit worried that a team with not a lot of depth might run into issues but they managed to keep it together.
4. I have not idea what the final gambling numbers were but I have to imagine the last minute of the game upset some people.
5. There was a lot of social media hate about the two teams. Most from people that never watched and probably didn't watch this game either. I love that the team got a win but may we never speak of this again and may this be the first step out of the damn basement and back to being the respectable program everyone knows this program has been for the better part of 40 years.

A win against IUPUI does not impress me especially with it being such a close game

Will probably should have held open tryouts at half time with those school children, could use some middle of the rotation guys. Zae is far and away the best player on this team. I do not want to speak it into existence, but I hope he is not a one-and-done here, à la Kamari McGee. I think Zae is a better player than Kamari, though, and I really hope he sticks it out, even assuming a horrible record on the year and possible (yet hopeful) coaching change. Sure, it was a win, but barely squeaking it out at home against literally the worst rated team in the country is hardly a confidence boost. A lot of the exact same mistakes and foibles I have been lamenting from past games were still very much on display, we just happened to get lucky playing an equally bad, if not worse, opponent. Winning is a learned behavior, though, so let's see if this establishes ANY sort of positive momentum. That said, I could see this easily being our lone win of the year.

How many of the 4200 were paid tickets? 200 🤪
When was last time they had 4000? Krash the Kress in 2019 against UIC?
When was last time they got 4000 when they didn’t give free stuff away? 2017 senior day against Valpo? (Maybe?)
At this point might as well try goofy stuff like this until you start winning. Not gonna get fans for awhile anyways
Glad to see we aren’t the worse team in the conference or country. I still find it hard to believe there’s 300 teams better than GB but I guess this is what we are now.
Tomorrow will be another double digit drubbing so enjoy it while it lasts

A win doesn't impress some of you because I am assuming that you enjoy them losing more and being able to complain about it. They don't win much, we all know that. Just enjoy when they do win. Long term everything else will sort itself out sooner than you think.
I am pretty sure they had a sponsor for the game and did just fine financially. Plus they probably got a cut of some concessions given how many people were there. However, we can't complain about nobody paying and then suggest doing more of the same. They have to win and also signal to the community that they are serious about earning their business. Gimmicks work once but I doubt it would work more than that.
