At this point I don't care how they got it done, getting butts in the seats for a game was a major achievement. It was a solid marketing victory, if not a monetary bonanza. I hope the AD has more gimmicks up his sleeve. I'm not into p*&&^%# in campfires and still believe there is hope for this program. The money games against high majors are a physical and emotional drain on everybody -- players coaches and fans.
We need to see Coach Ryan growing in a number of areas. He's done a good job identifying and recruiting talent. After two pandemic impacted seasons I want to see signs of life and a positive program identity. The team showed some of that in the Badger game.
Homegrown high school talent takes time to make the transition. Rushing that process can be counterproductive. I think Donavan Short is being put into the mix at the right pace for his physical, emotional and academic needs.
The two JUCO players brought in this season -- Blake and Cummings bring something the program didn't have the past two seasons. They are gifted athletically and show a good basketball IQ. The program under Ryan hasn't had the benefit of that combination. We're those past recruiting mistakes or just having to do business with a handicap other programs didn't have? I don't know. My guess is a 25/75 split on those two issues.
Yep, I'm frustrated but still believe this staff can get it done.

What do we mean donovan short only got 8 minutes of playing time in those 8 minutes he was impactful was he not. Brayden Dailey hurt his hand so today he didn’t play but before he should be playing more coach Ryan said he great shooter he’s a Wisconsin recruit he in my opinion is the Clafflin replacement he has the potential to be a 3 and d like clafflin was.

If the team doesn't look any better at the end of the year, I would re evaluate what we have with the staff. Off the court I've been impressed with the type of talent and player we have brought in. Have to keep a unit together in the offseason to carry over into next year but for now, just get as healthy as possible, learn as much as you can and gel as a team. Keep digging as a unit and there will be brighter days ahead
