It’s too bad this team has zero relevance locally because if they did the local media should/would be lighting Will Ryan on fire for how his teams completely no show the second half of every game. But since no one cares he will continue to get away with this malpractice. I thought linc ran the program into the ground but I’ll take his program 8 days a week over whatever this is supposed to be. At least with Linc, there would at least be a chance we get hot shooting or cause a bunch of turnovers….that simply doesn’t happen with this team

Here is a quick and easy template to copy and paste in every game thread:
“Looked okay in the first half, collapsed in the second. Negative assist to turnover ratio, and got absolutely killed on the glass. No adjustments were made on either end of the court.”

Well that literally did happen several times, one that stuck out was when we went to Madison and caused a record high number of turnovers for that Badgers team and we almost completed a monumental comeback.

The outcome with Wills team is a foregone conclusion prior to tip-off

Linc is gone, can we all move on?
I wrote this in the Indiana State thread and I will put it here too. My understanding is GB has several guys that are very good shooters but need to grow in their overall game. In particular on defense.
Well if that is true we should have seen them prior to 3 minutes left in the game. You can't win games if you can't score. If GB loses by 32 and 40 this week are you feeling any better? No, so play the guys that can take and make shots. Having some firepower might actually help stop the momentum of a run.
I will say this for today's game. They didn't stop playing, they just were out sized at almost every position.
A few things I would have tried and I'm not saying they would work. I would have sent an aggressive double team to the post when Wahad was having his way early in the second half. Also, how about a take foul when in transition and we aren't matching up? It doesn't have to be obvious but a nice body block to stop momentum couldn't hurt.
Bag nights and media attention aren't going to do anything. For those who are displeased phear not. I believe the university wants to see results. I also think the university is more willing than us on the board to settle for results in league play. Like I said scream as loud as you want in March if things aren't better.

That win over Miami was in Wardle's last year.
Darner did get GB to come from down 29 to lose by 3 in his first game against UW.
They haven't really threatened for a high major win since Wardle. Though they didn't play too bad against Iowa and Oregon under Darner.

My bad, I forgot about that one.
That actually was the last regular season Phoenix game that I didn't see. It was on some Pac12 network that I didn't receive at the time.

Wardle also beat Marquette at home. That was the last time the 2 schools played. Even in the first half Georgetown shot 50% and the second half they shot 70%. If they don't get more spacing and movement this Warriors style of offense is never going to work here. Why are the guards the leading rebounders? The big's must out of position. Why? If they are holding guys back because the need to play better defense, well that is just crazy because the team defense is just good at all.

Wardle also beat Marquette at home. And Virginia. Dick Bennet also had some high major wins.
