I don't see anything in this for Marquette as they already get games in Milwaukee at the new arena and against UW. GB might have a shot of trying to get a game in the new arena against UW. I am pretty sure to make that work in Detroit Oakland and Detroit Mercy don't take much if any of the gate. GB would have to do the same. It is probably worth it though to get them out of the Kohl Center. Though a game in Milwaukee with all of the UW alunni is hardly a neutral court.
Every year - Butler, Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame play in the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis. All four are in top tier leagues - (Big East, B1G, B1G, ACC) which makes it easier to continue drawing them all in to play each year. You can pretty much count on each of them being in or near a top 50 ranking each year, so you usually can count on having two good, fairly close games and you don’t have to worry about being a top 20 KenPom ranked team and getting stuck playing another team in the field that may have a 268 KenPom ranking (such as Wisconsin playing Milwaukee) and hurting your strength of schedule ranking. That’s probably why it might be difficult to get a basketball classic event going involving Wisconsin, Marquette, UWGB and UW Milwaukee.
