Marty Hill is staying at Evansville now.
Grant Gelon, who was at Indiana, then played Juco this year and had committed to Missouri State is reopening his recruitment. He is from Crown Point Indiana.

www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/college/uwgb/2018/03/24/jevon-smith-commits-uwgb-mens-basketball-team/456021002/I for one am very concerned about the direction of recruiting at this time. The article indicates another JUCO may be joining. If nobody leaves that would make the junior class 6 players. Didn't we just live through a rebuilding year, why set the program up to do that again in two years? The fans don't like that, the attendance numbers seem to prove that. Green Bay wants to and is used to winning. The level that they are getting these guys at also concerns me. I know there are diamonds in the rough. I also think it is fair to say now we know why a guy like Bains didn't have any/many offers. Jevon Smith and guys like Darryl Riley played at Mississippi Valley State and were being recruited by Chicago State. Those are two of the worst programs in D1. Is that really who GB should be competing with for recruits? Also, this staff has done next to nothing in recruiting WI high school players. In the 2018 class 11 players are going D1. Six of them are going to a high level, that I get. The other five were all offered by GB (Butler, Sabin, Litsau, Curtis and Justice) and they landed zero. Which makes sense since they only have 1 coach with any ties to Wisconsin. They need to get someone who can recruit the state because players are saying no to GB at a high rate. There are D1 players from WI that are transferring. Guys like Owen Hamilton, Juwan McCloud and Virshon Cotton are out there. Yet GB is committing their scholarships to JUCO players. If you can't get good WI kids out of high school you better be able to mop up when they transfer. My final complaint is GB was a terrible rebounding team last year. Right now there doesn't seem to be any relief in sight as they seem to be offering tons of guards and wings. How about a big man for goodness sake? If the program is going to grab guys with no or low offers how about taking a chance on a big man? I go back and forth on this. Linc knows how to coach his style. I just wonder if he has the goods to get enough players who can have an impact at the D1 level and win big. Seeing Loyola in the final four. Think about that, Loyola is in the freaking final four. This is a team that the Horizon League pushed around as recently as five years ago. A team that Green Bay in particular routinely beat easily. I am not saying GB could get to the final four but they could win bigger than they are. At times I can see them on that path and then at other times I can see them hanging out in the 300+ RPI for awhile to come. The best players on the team are high rated transfers and high school recruits. To me bringing in lightly regarded JUCO guys doesn't feel the path to the promised land.

Last season Darner faced the biggest rebuild in school history. There were also some painful recruiting lessons with Anderson's exit and Kanter's transfer. Last spring and summer I suspect there were some reaches on recruits simply because of the numbers issue alone. The Nix still need some immediate help and may not be able to have the luxury of another sit-out transfer or developmental prep players in the coming season. Darner has gotten some decent high school players in Patterson, Pipes, Hankerson and Chevalier. Right now the classes look imbalanced but who knows in a month. The two new JUCOs look like a good fit for the Darner system. There are a whole bunch of ways to get it done in college basketball. My biggest concern going into next season is muscle and rebounding. Patterson looked like he would be special but who knows how quickly he can get back on track after the shoulder injury and we all know how a lingering shoulder injury impacted Alec Brown's GB career. The Nix need someone who can get some rebounds in this coming signing period.

If we don’t get a transfer in like a McCloud from Northern Iowa then I surely hope it’s a 4 year player. With all of the coaching changes going on maybe we can snag a player who decommited?

Te'Jon Lucas is leaving Illinois. I would love him GB. If he ends up in Milwaukee then it's not likely that Juwan McCloud goes to Milwaukee.
I could also see Lucas going to Akron.
There are plenty of WI kids in motion with D1 experience. I hope GB can land some.

Visiting GB in a few weeks: Bethune Cookman and Youngstown State...are you kidding me??? This is who GB is recruiting against now?!?! This is bad. Plus what in the world do they need a 6'6" forward for?

This kid did open up his recruitment. I personally would rather have a guy like this and develop him into a contributor than some of the other guys they are recruiting from JUCO's. He is from NW Indiana and played at Don Bosco. Those are two things that lineup nicely for GB's recruiting. Please get a 4 year player in this cycle.

I’m starting to wonder if we have more than one scholarship available.. I really hope they are talking with McCloud from Northern Iowa (Fomerly) One really valuable aspect that McCloud brings is that he would make Pipes and Crist better players. Those guys are learning on the job. Having a two year starter from Northern Iowa would make them better players. Plus I don't view McCloud as a replacement to either player. I view him as a compliment. Both Crist and Pipes showed they have some lead guard and off guard skills. Having multiple guys who can handle and score fits the world of position less basketball. If they could get McCloud he would have to sit a year. By the time he is playing again Cohen will be gone while the other McCloud and Hankerson would be seniors and they could play together along with Jevon Smith. That would be six guys in the rotation, they could rotate 3 or 4 big guys in to from a 9 or 10 man rotation. As for other players leaving I don't have inside information. With the way they are recruiting they are either planning for that or recruiting over guys they don't think can contribute next year. I have a list of guys in my mind that I want to stay, a list that I would prefer stay but wouldn't be a loss they couldn't get over and a list that I am totally indifferent to leaving.

A couple of names that are interesting to me. Derek Koch is a big man who can shoot from 3 that is leaving BGSU as a freshman. He is from Ohio, I think by Cleveland. Amel Kulijuhovic is a 6'10" JUCO from Iowa. He opened up his recruitment after Reggie Theus was fired from CSUN. I am pretty sure GB has a coach who worked JUCO in Iowa. I am pretty sure GB needs an experienced big man. I am pretty sure with offers from Iona, Fullerton, E. Illinois, La-Monroe and Montana State that this guy is attainable. Derek Koch is transferring to one of Linc's old stomping grounds, Ashland. That is about 20 minutes from his house. So even if GB was interested it seems like he wanted to go home. Amel Kulijuhovic has been offered by a bunch of mid majors. No word of any GB interest. Since I am sour on recruiting right now. Here is a guy who is from GB's recruiting territory that played low major basketball and is transferring. Shouldn't be much competition for him and he plays a spot GB is loaded up at...so he's perfect. mvsusports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1716&path=mbballAlso, Te'jon Lucas has a UWM offer. That could help open up Juwan McCloud.
