I'm a bit backed up on the game viewing right now. I've seen half of Game 2 and none of Game 3. I'll comment when I've had a chance to catch up.
FSC started their season quite unimpressively getting squashed by Duke and Syracuse (as one would expect) and then losing very lackluster games in Alabama vs. W. Alabama and Delta State. These two games were quite disappointing as the team played crappy defense and shot badly. I spoke to the new coach today and he told me flat out that if you missed those games you didn't miss much. I had actually seen most of both of them on a video with no announcer track. He was right.
So that left FSC 0 - 4 coming into their first two conference games vs. #1 Barry and #2 Lynn. I was prepared to be at 0 - 6 after the week. Wednesday night they had Championship Night in Lakeland - gave out the rings and hoisted the banner. The five departed seniors from last year (one of whom is now an assistant coach) spoke to the team in the locker room pregame and the talk must have been inspirational. They came out and beat Barry in a very physical game, nicely played. I went up to Boca Raton today to the Lynn game and the team was even more impressive, leading by 21 points in the second half and eventually winning by a score of 98 - 91.
An FSC team that looked very shaky at the beginning of the week is now 2 - 0, 2 - 4 (counting the two D1 games) with victories over the two higher rated conference opponents behind them. Is the team on cruise control for the season now - no, I don't think so. But they have turned a corner. There are lots of things going on that I am not impressed with, but a bunch of things that I think are great. If they shoot at all decently and play defense they win. If they don't they lose.
Linc's a very good coach. We'd be glad to take him back.
Be patient. It'll work out.

Wisconsin looks average at best and will fight for 5th -8th place in the B10 in a best case scenario and is not nearly as good as GT. We'll see on Valpo as they are very good and no way on Oakland. I've been to four of Oakland's practices and know the staff well. Their 2 best players other than Felder are two transfers from Iowa St who couldn't see the floor there. I actually spoke to an Oakland asst who saw the GT-GB game as GTech's staff is close to him, he said the same thing, GT will be very good, top 5 ACC. Last year is completely irrelevant.

Does TK coach ETSU? They just lost at Charleston Southern. Get a big win and then lay an egg, that stuff drives me nuts when it happens to GB.
