The bottom line -- this is a major boost to the program when you consider $ and gear? In context how does this compare to the Nike deal? What does this mean on the recruiting front Adidas verses Nike? (summer AAU tournaments, etc.)

Good to have some alumni in high places.....;-)
As Tulsa eluded to before, I would like to see the benefit of the Adidas deal versus what GB had with Nike. At the surface, and since MEG is business-savvy, I would think it's better than Nike. But I would still like to see how MUCH better and how this affects recruiting. You don't think shoe contracts have an effect on recruiting, but in this day and age, I guess it does especially if it's in regards to access to prospects.
As a former alumni and fan of Jeff Norgaard, I hate to see him lose that account.....:-( But I also think that any financial decisions were made WAY above his pay grade.
Hope to see some old-school Adidas style track jackets in the GB Bookstore this season.

Adidas's jerseys the past few years make me want to puke. Really hope this is a good financial move for the university because personally I hate it, and I won't be buying much Phoenix apparel for the foreseeable future.

Be prepared for your uniforms to take a big dive south. We've had adidas for as long as I've been around our program and they just effing stink. Who can forget this gem? You may ask, "why the hell is the W so small?" Well, good Phoenix, let me tell you a story. Adidas makes a baseline 15 fonts for each of its biggest collegiate accounts, then shoehorns every other school (that would include mid-majors) into one of those fonts. That season, the reason the "W" is so small and terrible looking in MILWAUKEE is because that is Adidas' Louisville font for their uniforms. As you can see, there's no W in Louisville. So what does that mean? It means that they took the V and split it to make a W. They couldn't even be bothered to have a graphic designer spend five minutes creating a W for the Louisville font. This is the shoe company you guys signed up with. Adidas is a dumpster fire when it comes to college basketball. Your soccer teams? They're gonna look pretty damn cool.

The bottom line -- this is a major boost to the program when you consider $ and gear? In context how does this compare to the Nike deal? What does this mean on the recruiting front Adidas verses Nike? (summer AAU tournaments, etc.) Shoe companies don't steer mid-major recruits to different schools. Even most high-major players don't get steered places. And you can see that because you've gotten Nike and Adidas players in the past. So have we, as well as most mid-major players.

GB's negotiating stance with Adidas was probably strengthened by the fact that Wisconsin is going to Under Armour #hearditherefirst

I'm living in Eugene, Oregon these days and Phil Knight, the owner of Nike, takes care of his alma mater -- 100-million plus and a consistent stream of different uniforms. Nike, Adidas and Under Armor seem to be stepping up competition for schools. That may mean better products all around. As seen by the deal GB agreed to the competition means a better dollar deal. I'll hold back on final judgement regarding the Nix situation until we start seeing the uniforms. With King (a former UWGB grad and athlete) heading up the North American Division of Adidas I suspect the school will get above average treatment.
I'll also keep the chiffon tutu at the ready.

I really hate that GB athletics announces something they are happy about and Rob D. has to offer his two cents that they wronged Jeff N. As for Jeff I am sure he hates losing an account, all sales people do. However, all sales people do understand that clients have to pick with their own best interests at heart. If Nike couldn't beat this deal well there isn't much to say.
I don't have any illusions that Adidas is going to push GB athletics to the big time or even do anything customized. It looks like GB is just getting a large discount on gear but in the end they are still paying 100k per year. If they are getting more gear with Adidas for 100k than from anywhere else that is a good thing.
I have to agree that Adidas has had some weak hoops uniforms the last few years, I hope that changes this year.

It had to be a dollars and sense issue. There's somewhat of a bidding war going on and GB, among other schools appears to be a beneficiary.

I don't think Jeff Norgaard was 'wronged' as Rob D eluded to. I still think any decisions on sweetening the pot were made above him. Rob wanted to get another pot shot at the program......Let it go Rob, it's not your gig anymore and we are now 2 coaches removed from the TK Era.
Hopefully the Adidas gear is better than what it has been. I like some of the Adidas Originals (think of the old school Adidas 'Flower' logo) that UW has put out through Bucky's Locker Room. Hopefully we'll see that in the GB Bookstore. And some more Taylor-Made, GB specific golf accessories ;-)

FSC has Adidas uniforms. I think last year's looked really sharp and better than the year before.
Last year's away uni modeled by D. Turner:

There are other pic's in that album. (The jersey's with the contrasting solid shoulder colors are the 2013-14 shirts.)
IMO the 2014-15 uniforms were befitting wear for a national championship team.
