There's an interesting vote taking place tomorrow night in downtown Green Bay when the Brown County Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to spend $1 million for a new scoreboard for the Resch Center. The county's contribution will be in addition to $450,000 from the stadium district as well as $400,000 from PMI, which operates the Resch. In a nicely timed article in the Press-Gazette today, we find out that GB can opt out of its contract at the Resch and move games to the Kress Center on campus if there is no new scoreboard. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/college/uwgb/2015/05/19/board-vote-determine-uwgb-stays-resch-center/27601191/I think this will be moot because the board will approve the scoreboard tomorrow. Interesting though, to say the least.

I think this gets done and that GB hoops stays at the Resch. The Kress would be nice for a game or too but simply put isn't the right size for what the program should be. The video board at the Resch is bad, installing a modern one would put the Resch right back at the top of the list for facilities in mid major hoops.

When I saw the old video board at the Resch, I feel like I'm looking at my dad's old Commodore 64 computer......I think this will get done as well. I hope Linc schedules a couple games at the Kress, especially early in the season when the mid-week games typically don't draw much. This would be an opportunity to get his brand of GB basketball out to the student population at large.

Just looking from the board's point of view, GB basketball at the Resch generates a lot more money locally than it would having the games on campus. Many people frequent one of the bars before/after the game for food or drinks. That option isn't available on campus. It would enhance all the events that bring people from out of the area- most notable WIAA Basketball and Volleyball. It will look great on TV across the state and may increase attendance for a casual fan outside of the area. It better pass- I wouldn't mind watching GB play a directional school at the Kress on a Tuesday in December but please not permanently

I jumped the gun...they must have restructured the funding and revoted Yeah, one of the County Supervisors proposed giving PMI a $1,000,000 no-interest loan to pay for it instead of having the county buy it, but that was voted down. In the end it sounds like we'll have a new scoreboard and a new electronics control room. I think that will mean we will get a brand new video board as well as red LED lights around the backboard (finally) instead of the single red light bulb as well as the possibility of electronic ads on the scorers table instead of the current ones they have to manually flip.

This is great news as the old scoreboard was an antique when initially installed. The new board will serve to enhance the game along with recruiting IMO.

Any other upgrades being done on the Resch besides the scoreboard?......Personally, the seats should be replaced. The all red (with a splash of purple) seats isn't working anymore. Getting a black and grey seats (with an occasional gold or green seat strategically placed), since they are somewhat neutral, and they follow the colors of the Gamblers, and the secondary colors of GB would look better.

The seats are adequate and have a much longer shelf life than that old scoreboard. I am just happy I am not sitting on the wooden chairs at the BCA. Hopefully like someone else mentioned, the new boards come with some electronic sideline advertising and lights around the backboard for end of half/game situations.

I did read the article recently about the old BCA and if it's going to be around much longer. I remember the wooden chairs and how drafty it was in that old hangar.
