Hey Phoenix faithful, was just wondering in case GB Beats the winner of whoever Oakland plays and has to travel to Valpo, is anyone considering going?? Ive been a season ticket holder since like 85 and have never traveled to an opponents house before, but this year its going to change. If anyone has any info of one or if we should organize something let me know. Lets get this Conference Championship this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum jbergner! A couple years ago when GB played in the semi-final at Valpo (Broekhoff's buzzer beater), the athletic department organized a fan bus to go down there. I think it was $55 for adults, which included a game ticket, and free for UWGB students. I'll bet Andrew Gavin or someone from the athletic department will have some information on this either later today or tomorrow if they're doing something similar this year. I won't be able to make it down to Indiana for the semi-final game Saturday night but I would be VERY tempted to get down there for a potential championship game on Tuesday night. If anyone is interested in going down there, here's the ticket information: www.valpoathletics.com/mbasketball/news/2014-15/14418/tickets-available-now-for-2015-horizon-league-championship/#.VPXMTCbna70$20 for bleacher seats or $30 for the chairback seats

Going to Valpo for a game is well worth it. That gym isn't nice, to be honest it is amateur at best. However, the closeness to the court and rowdy fans make up for any of that. If GB gets to play two games I won't be going to either. I have other activities that will barely allow enough time to watch on tv.

This is something else that can't be understated about Valpo: the Horizon League takes over the town during the tournament. I highly, highly, highly recommend leaving Friday morning, enjoying the day in Valpo, checking out the games Friday night (so nice without a dog in the fight), watch some conference tournament action elsewhere at BW3's or some other bar, going to the two semifinals, then leaving Sunday morning ready to maybe return Tuesday.
It's so cool seeing fans from all the different schools in town. You got a taste of hosting which was nice, and we've done it a few times, but there's something about Valpo that is kinda special for the tournament - I prefer it even to the tourneys at Hinkle Fieldhouse, probably because bars were far from Butler's campus.

When Milwaukee took on Wright State in Ohio last year I made the impromptu decision to travel to the game for a chance to see my team win a championship.
If you can do it. DO IT. You won't regret it and it could be one of the best experiences you'll ever have.
It was one of the greatest decisions I've ever made.

It doesn't sound like they will be doing an organized bus trip, but I did just see this on the UWGB Facebook Page:

The stream at the Bar West as an absolute joke. I almost spent the entire time watching it on my phone instead, anyway. Great 2nd half tonight and Sykes took the team in his backpack tonight, gonna have to do the same on tuesday as well. Pretty exciting!!! And I look forward to the 4.5 hr drive down to valpo on tues. Anyone else going?
