Phoenix win 70-64. Strong play down the stretch from Sykes, Love, Mays and Fouse in a very physical game.

It was a physical game but it was also a sloppy game. GB had a ton of unforced turnovers. Palming, traveling, missing guys on outlet or back door passes. Then again that was all Detroit defense based on the color commentary on the broadcast.
The broadcast was totally amateur. Replays that were incomplete, weird angles at key times, not showing game action while they were showing replays/bench and then commentary that was like two Titan fans sitting in the stands.
I thought the game was chippy because some of the Detroit players took it there. I thought GB was playing a hard game and Detroit didn't like it and started jawing. The review of the Mays foul was laughable, clearly just a hard foul. Even the foul on Botz looked a lot more like a guy biting on a good pump fake and then not wanting to go down head first. I can understand the call but not why thug Howard has to be in there running his mouth.
Speaking of Howard I loved seeing him throw up two bricks down the stretch. Where was the scowl and the chest pounding when Detroit needed it? As for coming up big when needed as a Senior we can talk about Sykes and Mays. They just kept attacking.
Finally, I don't know all of the rules but when Mays was fouled on a rebound dunk in the second half GB got the ball out of bounds. Howard drew a foul on a pump fake from Love. Clearly a foul but Howard didn't even start shooting until after Love was back on the ground, yet he received an and 1. I was frustrated with Heimerman and Morrow to say the least.

Sloppy game, but on the road you take a win no matter how you get it or how it looks. I'm not a fan of anything about that Detroit team. I don't want to have to watch young Howard again because he does more talking and showboating than actually focusing on the game. The announcers were god awful and total homers, I understand they're both from Detroit, if I could so it do it over again I'd listen to Matt Menzl, who always does a great job. Good win Phoenix, but seriously, take care of the rock!

Detroit stepped out of conference and won at Northeastern, top team in the Colonial and a team with a top 75 RPI.

Detroit stepped out of conference and won at Northeastern, top team in the Colonial and a team with a top 75 RPI. That's a really nice win for them. Paris Bass is an extremely exciting young player.
