Huge game right away with Wright State. The Phoenix need to overwhelm with their size and crush them on the glass and in the paint. WSU will play as rough and tough as the officials will let them, with hand checking and grabbing everywhere, so the Nix will have to take care of the basketball. Very winnable game, but it will require a better effort than last time out, which I'd expect. The title defense starts now.

Hoping to see a good game tonight, from the Phoenix. After the poor showing a few nights ago, hopefully some days to regroup as well as this being the start of conference play will energize the squad and they can played like we all know they're capable of.
A specific thing I will be looking for is more balance, a well balanced team is much tougher to stop in comparison to a one or two man show. Unfortunatley, this season we've relied on one or two guys to score the majority of our points, if this team wants to be great they need to get contributions from many different players. Spread the floor by hitting some outside shots early and attack the lane at any and every possible time.

GB wins 79-55 a fun game to watch and great defense. Mays starts and played with a lot of energy. It was a very close 1st half and May's hit a 3 with 2 seconds left to give GB a 7 point lead at half. 3 players in double figures and 1 with 8 and another with 7. Francis and Small were the 1st G/F's off the bench, and Lowe came in for a big. Francis is really starting to look like a gem and I can see him starting next year. I think the Milwaukee Buck Asst. Coach went away happy. sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/wright-state-raiders-green-bay-phoenix-201501050652/

This might have been the best all around game I've seen all year. The beginning was a little sloppy but it got cleaned up pretty quickly, and the energy and effort were there from the opening tip. Sykes was more aggressive in the first half. Defensive effort was solid all game with a lot of blocks and probably twice as many alters. If anyone remembers the Hustle Board from old Bucks telecasts, the Phienix dominated it tonight.
I think Mays got the message from the benching last game and when he hit the three at the end of the first half it seemed like a two ton weight was lifted off of his shoulders. You could tell how happy the rest of team was for him.
Fouse was absolutely incredible. Always around the ball, active on D, and making pinpoint passes. Francis was impressive as well with 6 o-boards and 3 blocks. The kid's an incredible athlete and seems like he's rarely out of control. Sykes was Sykes with a deep NBA three and a fall-away rainbow along the baseline that he had to lob about 18 feet in the air to get over two defenders.
Great game all around and hopefully they stay humble and hungry. Shouldn't have any trouble getting motivated for the Milwaukee game.

I missed the first half but saw the 2nd half. That was fun to watch. It wasn't perfection, but it still was a high level of play.
Just as a side note, I wonder if we'll see McKinnie shoot more from the outside once that bandage comes off his hand. He's got maybe the best pure shooting stroke on the team when he's healthy and right.

Dave Babcock is the Bucks Player personnel director. It appeared he left just after halftime.
Was that former GB Point Guard Seth Evans on Wright State's bench? He was coaching down in Florida earlier this semester?

If I were a WSU fan I would be wondering why some GB fouls were disguised as athletic ability to the officials? Even though GB fouled a lot I thought they received the benefit of the doubt a lot. I also don't think it mattered in the end result.
I know he didn't finish a lot of moves but it was interesting to watch JT Yoho play. I had watched 1.5 other WSU games this year and he has certainly expanded his game from just being a spot up 3 point gunner. With that said I don't think he was prepared for GB's athletes up front to take away a lot of the looks he probably normally gets.
Also, a big thank you to Coach Donlon for playing their style. From what I have watched and read online WSU wants to score faster than in the past and play solid man to man as a primary defense. Those are two things GB has not faced in a while and seeing the end result I can see why everyone plays so much zone. I do appreciate sticking to what a team does but that really allowed GB to display their athletes. I would imagine an average defensive team like Milwaukee this weekend will bring some junk defense schemes.
Welcome back to Greg Mays. He was so much more active. He responded like a senior should after what happened last week.
Daeshon's hang time is a big factor for teams to deal with. What an impressive showing for him.
Also, welcome back to decent FT shooting. Its kind of sad when 71% is a sight for sore eyes but I will grab it!
Finally, Fouse and Sykes with great all around games. There isn't much to say there, they were studs even if Wardle did leave them in too long to pad the stats.

Most said isn't that the guy that transferred? Most had a hard time remembering his name. lol
