I am hoping for a bigger crowd for this game. Would be nice to see total attendance in the 5,000 range.

Huge game. Green Bay needs to exact revenge for the debacle in Atlanta, and it's the Phoenix last shot at another top 50 RPI win.
Also, posters had asked in an earlier game thread if season ticket holders could still exchange unused tickets for future games. The answer is yes, and this would be the game to bring your friends. Should be a great game.

Georgia States RJ Hunter, a 6'6" SG, is projected to go 22nd overall in the latest mock draft at draftexpress.com. They have Sykes going late 2nd round. However, Ryan Harrow might be the best player on the court today. The former Kentucky starter is averaging 20 ppg from the PG position. Huge test for the Phoenix defense.

Phoenix win going away at the end 78-61. They had a great start but at about the 15 min mark couldn't do anything right for 7-8 minutes. Went from approx. 7 point lead to maybe a 12 point deficit. Then had it tied with 2 seconds before half time when GS got a bucket. After time expired GS got a T and Keifer shot it to start the 2nd half to tie the game. We also had the arrow which didn't change because of the T. The next 15 minutes were a dog fight until GB took over at the end. Couldn't find the stats but C Love was top scorer around 30, Keifer and Jordan both in double figures. I'm going by memory but I think Jordan was 2-2 from 3pt land. Amack may have also been in double figures before his injury which Botz converted into 2 pts which were needed. Amack got hurt in the 2nd half and had to go to locker room, he returned later but didn't play. It looked to be some kind of hand injury when a GS player tried to block his dunk. They just showed up and Amack did get 11 pts so 4 players in double figures. sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/georgia-state-panthers-green-bay-phoenix-201412270652/

It was a fun game to watch between two good teams. They said on the radio that McKinney cut his hand on the rim.

What a great game. A near perfect game from Love. He was an absolute stud today. I think BW sent a message to Mays today and it worked out that we still got the W with him on the bench.
Hopefully, McKinnie will be back on the 31st, but if not I still feel confident in the team. I'm thinking he got stitches since they took him in to the locker room.
The second half run was too much for Georgia State, Francis with two big time and 1's was very exciting and momentum grabbing. Free throw's are still a concern but we hit them when we needed to (Botz and Francis).
Also, how awesome was Fouse? His offensive struggles regularly frustrate me as a fan, but today he was on another level. Very efficient, hopefully he can build off of this game, going forward.

This was an important game in terms of the Nix post season tournament hopes. It avenges that massive loss to Georgia State down in Atlanta. Both teams will be in the post season conversation and a split in their home and home will take away the negative of the road loss.
Sykes was an unsung hero today. The attention Georgia State paid to him opened up things for a bunch of other players. Sykes took what was given to him and set up his teammates. The light has gone on with Love and McKinnie. I never thought Fouse could would develop an outside shot. I thought he was a bigger version of Gary Grzesk -- great D and heart but no shot. Can Francis develop an outside shot to go with the rest of his game?
Make a higher percentage of free throws and this team will be extremely difficult to beat. Play D, don't fall in love with jump shots and this addition of the Phoenix has a chance to be in the conversation with the best teams of the Bennett Era.

Despite several attempts to not seal the deal it ended as an exciting win. The margin of victory doesn't indicate that this game was close the entire way (unlike the game in Atlanta). However, when people look back on the series they will just see blow out wins on the home courts and that is what GB needed to avenge the earlier loss.
I really don't like Ryan Harrow (#55) for GSU. He is a talented player no doubt but he spends a lot of time talking and show boating. On his first drive to the hoop he complained to the ref (Lamar Simpson) who was staring him down. As soon as the next dead ball came GSU had been informed that he was being watched and was on a short leash. It was no surprise that Simpson rang him up for a T at the end of the half as Harrow couldn't control his mouth and emotions all game.
Speaking of controlling Harrow normally our bigs can switch in a screen and guard other teams PG's. This was the case against FGCU but Harrow made a lot of tough layups/floaters and killed GB in these situations in the first half. It was good to see an adjustment to trap him in the second half and force him to give up the ball. With that and C Love making Hunter work for his shots GB was able to extend several leads until they finally broke away late.
For a team that can't make FT's it was good to see Francis step up and make his. I wasn't expecting that considering he has struggled before this and his jumper doesn't look good. I know the staff is high on him and those two plays helped to show why.
I love seeing McKinnie get in a groove, he is a difference maker in HL. Also, that is six straight good scoring games by C Love. His defense has been constant but his offense is really starting to click. At some point with those guys rolling and Fouse hitting jumpers teams may come out of a zone in which case the offense will look totally different for the better.
I would love to see Greg Mays bounce back quickly, this was a terrible game for him.
I think it might also be time for someone else to get the minutes Botz is getting. He has really slowed down after a nice start to the year.

He has really slowed down after a nice start to the year. You have to just Love how Carrington has bounced back from his slow start and really become a force which GB needed. Amack has had some really good games lately and has been a force on the boards which has made him a better player and playmaker for us. He really skyed on a couple of rebounds and put backs. He's earned his starting spot by banging the boards. I hope that Mays can make the same progress that Love has but he just seems uninterested and off? Lowe has to get better at FT's to regain a starting position I think he's 2-12 or 2-13 over the last couple of games. It seemed their Coach as well as Harrow were working the ref's hard. The way the ref pointed after the T at the half I thought he might have been ejected. From our seats it looked like he took a step towards Keifer and said something. At the time he had 14 points and Keifer 12 so I'm sure it wasn't a compliment. Nice to see he didn't score in the 2nd half. But their 2 guards on talent I would rate as some of the best in the Country. Awesome game to watch with the swings back and for and then the sweet last 5 minutes.

Love leads Green Bay to bounce back win (includes highlights) Phenomenal game, filled with highlight reel plays, toughness, and skill from both teams, and team play from Green Bay. Georgia State had 2 great players, but Green Bay has team play on both ends of the floor, and that eventually won out. Coach Wardle has often mentioned that he thinks the biggest jump in level of play comes in year 3. You can see that right now in Love and Fouse. Who'd have guessed Jordan Fouse would be hitting 39% from long range? The development plan at Green Bay is becoming so evident. It's not a one man program. I speculated that the outside shooting might make a jump once they had a home stretch, and I think we're starting to see that. I expect we'll continue to see a ton of improvement over the next few games. Hopefully the free throw shooting also takes off. This is a huge win, as it keeps the Phoenix hopes of an at-large bid alive. Also great to see Alec Brown back in the house.

I thought the Phoenix played a great game and Francis came up huge in the second half along with Love. I like Botz as a player but his shot seems off right know. He is not stroking it like a shooter normally does and seems to be pushing it like he does not have confidence in it. If he is to continue getting time he needs to hit some outside shots.

This was a really fun game to watch. Probably the best all-around game the Phoenix have played at home thus far. I thought the two "and-1's" by Francis were the biggest plays of the game. Love was spectacular on both sides of the ball and really did a great job of probing GSU's zone and getting the ball to the rim in the second half. The bigs weren't asked to do a whole lot this game since the majority of GSU's offense comes from Harrow and Hunter. Still would've liked to have seen more from Mays and Lowe on the offensive end, fortunately they weren't needed. A-Mack seems to be back to 100% for the first time in his two-plus seasons with the program and it's great to see him contribute.
Mini-Rant - The ignorance of some fans in my section (209) is mind-numbing. There's a couple of guys behind me who yell throughout the game (this is probably the third game they've been at). I wouldn't mind if it was cheering, but they spent the majority of the game on Saturday either (a) yelling at the refs for no reason (I thought the refs were actually pretty good for this one) or (2) yelling at Kevin Ware and mocking his leg injury. They're idiots and I'm not sure if I can go the whole season without saying something.

Maybe even the same guys you are mentioning. I agree this was a pretty well officiated game especially coming off the game against Irvine where GB really didn't get any 50/50 calls in their favor.
