Minnesota-Duluth @ Green Bay (4-1) When: Monday, December 1, 7:00 Where: The Resch Center Media Streaming: ESPN3 Radio: WNFL 92.1 FM 1440 AM
Duluth will be playing a D1 team for the 3rd time this year. They previously lost to Minnesota by 27 and Notre Dame by just 17. It will be interesting to gage the Phoenix in comparison to those teams. UMD is lead by De Pere native Reece Zoelle, a 6'4" guard. They have more local flavor with Kaukauna's Kyle Schalow, a long with a number of other Wisconsin born players.
It will be good to get to see the Phoenix live once before they head out for a 2 game road trip later in the week.

Those Minnesota and ND games must have helped the UMD athletic budget.

Nice to see GB get a easy win. Also nice to see Turner, Small and Francis get decent minutes all 3 looked like they're going to help this year. Kerem and Henry also saw nice minutes. Good tune up before going on another road swing. The only players not to score were Henry and Love. Everything except FT's was excellant. If we keep missing FT's it will cost us a close game sooner or later. Lol FT % and 3 point % was the same 54.5%? sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/minnesota-duluth-bulldogs-green-bay-phoenix-201412010652/

Well played game. McKinnie was stroking it from 3 land. Khalil Small was outstanding off the bench. Only negative was that Kenneth Lowe continues to do his post moves in slow motion, causing most of his shots to get blocked. He really needs to stop hesitating and just explode through his moves. He's too important to this team to struggle like this.
Huge road trip up next.

Excited about the road trip, I didn't take away anything important enough to comment on from this game. D2 team and the game was kind of dull and boring.

The guys looked like they could score at will against UMD. I would guess a full 40 minutes of GB's normal rotation would completely overwhelm UMD. In a game like this it is good to win and to be able to use the deep bench. Not every HL team has been able to do that in their Non D1 games.
As for take aways I would say that I was impressed with the first half from Irvin and Zolle of UMD. Those guys had a little game and made tough shots. I would say I was worried about the GB free throw shooting. That has to improve before the big money portion of the season. I was disappointed that GB didn't blow these guys away on the glass. The rebounding numbers were not impressive given how much bigger, stronger and athletic GB was even if it didn't feel like UMD was getting that many boards.
I would love to see a couple of big road wins to close out this week. I am curious to see what GB can do.
