I would not be surprised to lose Wardle, but I do not think it will be to Marquette. Had they made the NCAA and made some noise, perhaps, but not the way the season ended. There likely will be other opportunities for more money that may present themselves. I can't help but think there may be some feelings that Wardle should not have been subjected to the investigation this past year and may jump at an opportunity to leave. Assuming we do not lose Wardle to anyone. Could this open up the possibility of Sandy Cohen staying closer to home? Luke Fischer? Cohen has said that he wanted to play at Marquette since he was a kid. I think it's a situation where he wants to play for MU more than Buzz, so unless something dramatic happens I can't see him commitment changing. I'm not sure on the rules, but I believe Fischer has already enrolled at Marquette and is just waiting until the middle of next year to become eligible. I can't see him transferring again, and I can't see any coach thumbing there nose at a highly ranked big man. Marquette was Cohen's dream school, but dreams change. One thing Sandy stated during his recruitment was his desire to play PG. Since Sandy committed, the ultra-talented PG Duane Wilson redshirtshirted and will now be in the same class as Sandy. He told reporter Dan Koob today he'd have to talk to his family about whether he'll re-open his recruitment in the wake of the coaching change. Sandy had a bunch of big offers, but I always thought he'd be better off at Green Bay. He'd be close to his support system in the Murphy family. He'd play major minutes as a freshman, possibly including being the back-up PG, and could take over the position as a sophomore. He's been playing pick-up games with the GB players for years. Sandy has regularly attended Green Bay games this year, including their NIT game. Sandy has always been a highly emotional individual, and I'm afraid he might lose his way at a large school. I'd love to see this local player succeed, and he's an unbelievable talent.

Good article in the Presss but of course it was written by Scott Venci who has followed the phoenix. He's done a accurate job of reporting all year. Interesting that Sandy Cohen has been released from his NLI by Marquette. Who would not want to intern under Keifer's guidance for 1 year with the chance of taking over at PG?

Nice to see a reporter go to the team and let them tell the story to their fans. Haven't seen this in past years.
I guess other writers could care less about their readers.

I'm told from a decent source that Cohen is "officially wide open" on his commitment. Of the schools mentioned as landing spots, neither GB nor Milwaukee were on the list. Virginia Tech was.

I would rather see Cohen at ANY of the D1 Wisconsin schools or another top flight D1 program, than toil away in Appalachia.

He's at Northern Iowa. He's redshirting this season and will be eligible to play next season.

Not directly related to the GB 14-15 season but Ohio U. hired Saul Phillips from NDSU to be their new coach. I am not too worried about losing Coach Wardle at this point to another program but that was one that I thought might be possible. Their previous coach was Jim Christian. I would assume he left on good terms. If I remember correct Christian is close with Coach Kowalczyk and there was a small part of me that thought maybe a connection could be made on behalf of Coach Wardle, especially with everyone at the final four this weekend.
As it stands now the best available jobs are California, Tulsa, Marshall and Florida Atlantic (the weather and conference put it on the list). I can't see Wardle being in the mix for any of those gigs.
