Hard to believe we're already at game #20! A 6PM start at Dayton. We beat them at home back at GB on December 29th by a score of 88-77, yet we're 9.5 underdogs tonight. A challenging couple of days here at WSU tonight then at NKU on Saturday. We're currently in 2nd place in the conference with a record of 6-2 - feels awesome!
Big upset in Horizon last night with IUPUI winning at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Not necessarily expecting to win this one. I can’t remember the last time they won in the nutter center. But I’ll be watching! Go Phoenix!

Awesome win, even when WSU made a run towards the end GB wasn’t phased. Reynolds has Wight St’s number and GB’s 3 point shooting was incredible. If they play like this there’s not a team in the league that can beat them.

I cannot even begin to explain my excitement at the moment. These players are absolutely awesome and a blast to watch. Credit to Sunny and of course the staff he brought in to breath ferocious life back into Green Bay basketball!

This is a seriously good team that continues to get better by the week.

Not necessarily expecting to win this one. I can’t remember the last time they won in the nutter center. But I’ll be watching! Go Phoenix! Before tonight, the last time we won at Wright State was 1-17-14 (79-69)! Neither Linc, nor Will ever won there. This team is really a blast to watch them get better each week. They’re so much better than they were in November - while Sunny and staff continues to coach them up!

Let’s be honest, Will Ryan didn’t win anywhere…… At this rate Coach Wicks will win more games this season than the entire 3-year, ill-fated, Will Ryan era. I think this team at this point has surpassed most of our expectations. The close losses earlier this season bother me a little bit still especially against UC-Riverside (who’s now at the bottom 1/3 of the Big West) and Valpo (dead last in the MVC; Hope they are not regretting the decision to move from the HL), but if those games were a learning process to get this this point of the season, then I’ll take it.

RPI up to 167 with the win. Forget Will Ryan, Sunny has blown away where Linc Darner left the program.

That's how coaching a team works. Losses are part of the process. Especially with a new team and staff.

Green Bay has a great brand of basketball right now. They space the court on offense with shooters and then share the rock to find those shooters. They score a boat load of points without racing the ball up the court and taking the first available shot.
On defense they do make you work hard. The defense would look better with a little more paint presence but they have a good strategy and overall execute it with the players they have.
Some fans around the league are still talking smack about this squad. I think those people don't know anything about basketball.

Sundance and his staff are getting the maximum out of the talent on this squad. Spacing and ball movement compensates for the lack of a stronger post presence. The key to the quality three point shooting is that ball movement that gets open looks for good shooters. Wonders and Douglas have really come on in recent weeks. Hall's versatility has impressed me. A summer in the weight room could take him to another level on the court. I had some questions about Ruedinger earlier this season but now I think he was shaking off that off season injury. Reynolds is turning out to be among the elite four or five players in the history of the Nix program.

I was watching my granddaughter's JV high school game and was not able to see the Phoenix game live. (They won to remain undefeated, and she hit a big three near the end to take the lead)
The ESPN+ app via Hulu Live is not displaying the game for replay. Is anyone else having this problem?

I admit I vastly underestimated what this staff could do with the talent they have assembled, but then I don't know anyone who predicted these results. On to Northern Kentucky and let's hope we can continue to shoot 50 percent on threes.

This is as close to Dick Bennett basketball as we have been in many years.
