Green Bay extended a scholarship offer to another big, experienced JUCO guard today. Looks like he has already played 3 years at the JUCO level so would have 2 years left to play. Only hit 32% of his threes but he didn't take a lot of them, does most of his scoring in other ways. Also looks like he is a solid rebounder for a guard and would be able to help on the defensive end. www.scfmanatees.com/sports/mbkb/2021-22/bios/cummings_iii_clarence_1gtr?view=splits&pos=st

He certainly looks to be racking up the D2 offers. The stats say he can score. At this point, we just need bodies, and he looks palatable.

Settling for bodies is a good recipe for winning five games again.
Every player coming in better have the desire to win and the size and skills to match.
Getting where we want this to go starts by getting the right people and not just any people. The university and program have way more to offer potential players than some give it credit for.

Based on the other offers I am seeing here he just seems like a guy we've had in recent years that flops here. All I am seeing is D2 offers with this guy. Would rather use the scholarship on a high school player with talent who we can develop.

Being a strong leader is a big plus for Cummings. This past roster lacked leadership at times, or perhaps lacked a leader that others followed at times.
Cummings does have very good size for his position. There are a lot of guys in the HL that do effective things from the wing just by being bigger and stronger than some of their opponents. The big question mark here is can he shoot. This past season was frustrating to watch so many missed shots.

I just watched the video he has on Twitter.
Two things are clear to me. One, he has excellent size for his position. Two, he does a lot of things. He has a lot of tricks in his bag so to speak. I'm guessing the consistency at which he does all of those things varies or GB wouldn't have got him.
Overall he seems like an interesting addition and I look forward to seeing him play for the Phoenix.
