Monday 6pm CST on ESPNU
The teams split the regular season. WSU wanted to play GB instead of UIC according to their assistant coach on the first round post game show. They ended GB's season in LCA last year. Let's make sure they regret wanting this match up.

Favorite week of the year kicks off today!
Which Green Bay team will show up tonight? Will Manny Patterson get the opportunity to shut down Loudon Love like he did in the last game?
PJ Pipes shooting picked up a bit in the last game against UIC, which is promising.
Win the turnover battle and don’t get blasted on the boards then I think we win this game!
Go Phoenix!!

Hope we don't get disappointed again after a solid finish to the regular season and the QF game versus UIC last Tuesday.

If JayQuan gets hot, I think we are winning this. The interview from Linc yesterday said they didn’t really have a great practice, but sometimes that’s not the worst thing if he’s able to identify flaws ahead of time versus making on the fly adjustments.

If Sandy keeps up his production (20+ points in 5 of the last 6 games) and we get double figures from a couple other guys I like our chances. Need some balanced scoring, can’t rely on Cohen for everything.
Hopefully we get the usual Kam Hankerson that steps it up a notch when playing close to home

Listening to the game from Mexico. Can’t see what’s going on but what’s gone so wrong?

Can’t play a good 10-15 mins in a tournament game (or most games) and expect to win not with their defense.
Can’t miss seven fts against the top team in conference and expect to win.
Can’t give wright st rebound after rebound and expect to win.
I give them credit for making it a game in the second half but that was a winnable game which sucks.
Can’t let Wampler beat you.
Now 4-15 since 1995 in semifinal games. Most opportunities in the conference very little to show for it. So incredibly frustrating. Hankerson disappeared the last quarter of the season as did Pj Pipes. Cohen never really took over games like Skyes did he would in stretches then disappear. Tank needs to do nothing but practice fts in the off-season. No point in driving if you can’t even shoot 60 percent at the line. Please for the love of god do not play in the cbi or cit.
Next year will probably be in the same boat. 4-5 in a shitty conference. Just good enough for Linc to keep his job but piss off it’s fastly shrinking fanbase with its inconsistency.
Good night. Until next year Phoenix fans.

The horrendous play at the end of the first half/beginning of the 2nd half was too much to overcome. Credit Wright State's defense, GB did not get anything easy for most of the game and was dominated on the glass.
17-16 10-8 in the league and a win in the conference tournament makes for an average year. Not what fans were hoping for but the play improved down the stretch. Can this team absorb the loss of Sandy Cohen and get better? For the most part the league should be better next year too. Another year of average next year may cause Charles Guthrie to make a tough decision on Coach Darner. Darner's 2020 recruiting class will be key in his future. Does he land quality players or will he find more band-aids for 20-21 in JUCO. He has recruited JUCO well but to get another deal/extension without a big year next year- he needs to show an ability to recruit long term.
Mentioned it to PhearthePhoenix last night, Not a fan of this team playing in CIT or CBI because I just do not see them making a deep run. Those events should be for mid majors that feel they can win it or teams who haven't been to the postseason in forever (think IUPUI). West Virginia has apparently agreed to play in the CBI if they do not win the Big 12 tournament. Their next loss would be their 20th. Would be worth it to play Jordan McCabe in Morgantown. They might be the first P6 school in several years to play in one of these events. Losing to UMKC in their high school gym hasn't helped my perspective of these events either.

Tough loss but a good comeback to make it interesting. The rebounding was an issue, you can't give WSU extra chances...they will capitalize.
If they are asked to play in any tournament they should. You don't have to hang a participation banner. However every practice is important, every game is fun as a fan and for a guy like Sandy every chance to shine could mean extra dollars.

On top of being dominated on the boards, GB also lost the turnover battle but more so, WSU was 18-24 on the FT line while GB was 5-12.....

Not sure what Jevon Smith’s situation is but if he doesn’t return it will very telling to see what they do with that scholarship. Best case scenario they they can get high major transfer to come in and sit out next year then be roaring to go for the following year. A good way to even out the clssses considering we could have 6 scholarships to fill.
