The crowd was loud- a couple really bad calls by the stripes in the 2nd half really got the place going. Yes it was only 1729, but the combination of everyone in the middle seats and quite frankly mostly people who really care about the program there, the place was rocking at the end. Tre Bell really stepped up when the team needed someone to answer UIC hot shooters. On to Detroit
Tre Bell and PJ Pipes made some big plays when they haven't been put in those positions lately. JayQuan was solid in all aspects as well. It is too bad tank was in foul trouble because he kept GB in the game early.
The crowd wasn't big but it was lively when it mattered. I know WSU had 3200 more people but they have known for longer that they were hosting. Plus GB is just getting their momentum, WSU fans have been riding a wave longer. WSU has a lot of season ticket holders, I believe this game was free for them. The walk up ticket was cheap. I would guess GB did just as well in the bank account if not better than WSU did.
Sandy is asked to do a lot against defense that is designed to stop him first. In my mind that makes it more amazing that he does so much so effectively. He is a stud and will be missed greatly. I don't know what happened to Kam down the stretch but he is usually solid in Detroit so it is time for him to get loose again.
Hunter started at UIC and then had several DNP's in a row. Then he gets back in last night. My guess is coach just see's something he likes in a matchup.
