Decided to check out how everyone is doing around college basketball that would have a connection to GB/WI. Former Coaches Bradley 8-7, 0-2 MVC (Lost @ Home Northern Iowa 47-65 /Lost at Indiana State 60-65) Rough home lost to UNI! NET Ranking 225 Toledo 12-2, 0-1 MAC (Lost @ Home Ball State 79-64) 9-1 @ home this season, home games definitely help a program NET Ranking 76
In-State Wisconsin 11-4, 3-1 Big Ten (Lost @ Home Minnesota 59-52/Win at Penn State 71-52) Did I see that right, Wisconsin scored 14pts in the first half vs Minn?? Maybe they should mix in a few more home games vs Savannah State(3-12)(going D3 next year), HBU(5-8), Coppin State (1-15), Grambling State(6-8). By the way lets pay them, Keep shipping instate tax dollars to out of state teams and not want to play/pay GB. (would help on GB budget and Wisconsin people can get behind David vs Goliath) We can save that conversation for another thread! NET Ranking 21
Marquette 12-3, 1-1 (11-0 @ home) (Lost @ St Johns 89-69/Won @ Home Xavier 70-52) Come on Marquette you could schedule GB also, 11-0 at home, instead lets pay out of state teams Bethune-Cook (5-10), Charleston Sou (6-8), North Dakota (7-9), Southern U (1-13), Utep (5-8), among a few others NET Rankings 23
Milwaukee 6-10, 1-2 Horizon(Won @ home Clev State 83-76/Lost @ Home Young St 76-51) NET Rankings 274

Thanks for the interesting info.... a couple glaring obvious’s(if that’s even a word).
I have seen in the past on different threads fans complaining about playing lower level non conference opponents. Everybody plays them, we all should know why.
Also the two Power 5 schools play mostly home games non conference, same goes for the MVC schools. Not so much for GB, or Milwaukee. Interesting fact though Bradley played two horizon league schools and lost to both of them. That is a perfect example of why it’s hard to get schools to play D1schools classified as lower mid majors.
Also 14 points in a half which I know is somewhat normal for Wisconsin but can’t be really that exciting to watch.
Oh well, on to this weeekend it’s gonna be tough Detroit’s, Davis is gonna get his points. I’m sure they’re will be a plan for the other guys, and NKU is always tough at home. It would be nice to get a split, but whatever happens this weekend I can guarantee it will be exciting to watch.

I wonder if the seat is starting to get hot for Wardle at Bradley. Plus in his first conference game his team only scored 47 points (remember those days?) Has been there for 4 years and hasnt really accomplished anything.
Detroit and Oakland will be tough this weekend and you never know how the guys will perform on the road. Have to avoid going down big because it wont be easy to dig your way out on the road.

Is this the year that Kowalcyzk finally gets to the NCAA Tournament? The guy clearly knows how to build a decent program but just can never get over the hump it seems.

That program was trash when he took over and they won 20 games in his third year doing it with mostly lower level recruits. They were doing just fine and looked to be on pace to win 20 games again this year but something seems off right now. Anyway, he has done a good job there I think and will be given a chance to rectify it.

They didn't play anyone in the non conference schedule so their resume isn't that great for a one bid league and Buffalo just looks a little stronger. I think he has done a good job there but his team isn't quite good enough IMO. In GB he had some good teams that were just off of what Butler was, seems about the same with it being Buffalo instead of Butler.

Toledo looks to be a bit over rated as well, as someone else said, they built their record by playing lesser teams at home. Over all it looks like a down year for the MVA conference.
