No one should be surprised by this. This is where he always wanted to go from day one. Can't fault the guy for chasing his dream. Good luck Trev!
Now we have two scholarships to fill! I am sure Linc knew this a while back so I am sure he has a plan.

Another reason to hate the badgers.
Hopefully he doesn't turn out as good as everyone says he would and is another brevin pritzel.
So much for wanting not to just be another guy and wanting to be the star. Why didn't he just go to butler or another big school when offered?

Hankerson at the point! Now that excites me.

Huge blow to the Green Bay program. Anderson was the biggest recruit in many years and when healthy showed he could be an all horizon league player. IMO losing him to Wisconsin bites but really cant blame a kid growing up in Stevens Point for taking that chance.

Then he found out Linc is in way over his head here, and jumped ship. Very similar to why Kanter moved on.

I thought he would have gotten one of their available scholarships...will have to go the Showalter route to earn one.

I look forward to the day when players choose Green Bay over Wisconsin and Marquette, even if it is with the expectation of more playing time. As is we have lost multiple players to Wisconsin even choosing to pay their own way. This predates the current coaching staff. The last time I remember a player choosing GB over any kind of Wisconsin offer was Tillema.

I'll be honest. He was okay but he never really jumped out at me. He might do well at Wisconsin in their 50 ppg offense if he can just stand in the corner and shoot

While I disagree he is in over his head it is mighty fishy he is choosing to walk on and sit out a year to do so. He could have walked on at Wisconsin last year so why wait a year? They had to have told him if he redshirted his own way this year they would give him a scholarship next year. Otherwise this makes zero sense.

Translation: Green Bay is too small time for me as a school and a basketball program.

First, best wishes to Trevor.
As a Nix fan this is extremely disappointing. That said I do have comfort in the way Coach Darner related to Trevor over the past two an a half years. He was always up front and acted in the player's best interest. Anderson's back injury torpedoed a 20 plus win season and Darner could have pushed to get him on the court instead of sitting him for the reminder of the season.
The timing also leaves the program in the lurch late in the recruiting process in a year that was particularly challenging in and of itself.

I have three things:
1. What if this was Trev's plan the whole time? For example, what if Gard told him to go play some where else for a year and then come walk on? We'll never know but it's a good possibility.
2. Who ever said Hankerson will turn out to be a better player for UWGB is most certainly right now.
3. I am sure they are working their tails offs right now but this move is huge for Pipes and Hankerson.
