This Kanter story is interesting to me for two reasons: 1. Why would Xaviergold a scholarship for a guy that may decide he's going in the draft (I know he won't, but it's still a bizarre thing)? 2. Kerem never thank GB or the coaching staff in his statement. Was he really unhappy? I thought they gave him plenty of chances, despite not fitting the scheme all that well. I just think he thought he was above the program. Living in your brother's shadow is never easy, especially when he's an NBA'er. I think the success he had in his one good half year went to his head and he wanted to try to equal his brother's success.

Former Xavier big man commit Brady Ernst decommitted yesterday. Perhaps he didn't like Xavier taking on Kanter. He would be a great guy for GB to land. He is like Lowe and Kanter combined into one big body with 3 years left to play. I don't know what level he believes he should go to but Xavier was by far his highest offer this year and in high school Iowa State was his best offer by far which he did accept before having a knee issue and not playing much. I think Herbst has Iowa JUCO ties, this is a guy I would love to see GB land. When Brady Ernst committed to Xavier in January his offers at that time included Pittsburgh, Creighton, Minnesota, Seton Hall, & Georgia Tech. Sounds like he is way over our level. Wonder in time if Xavier will regret taking a one year player and losing a 3 year player? The only place I read about high offers for Ernst was on Scout.com which I think is the least accurate recruiting site. They seem to want to attach any high major interest to every player to try and drive clicks to their site. With that said Ernst very well could be above GB's level but if he is worried about not beating out Kanter then that makes me wonder what level he should be at. From what I read from other fan sites they don't view him as having the whole package to play in the P5. If I were a coach I would still rather have 3 years of this guy than a 1 year rental of Kanter. Also, with the way transferring up works he might come to a mid major, do really well and then play his 5th year somewhere else.

Yeah, lmao to that. Fair criticism isn't uncalled for, if he is that upset at what WE say, imagine how he will react to what scouts tell him....

Take the high road and wish him well. Xavier and the Big East will be a new challenge for KK. It will be fun watching the games between the Musketeers and Marquette. I can't wait to see what Patterson brings to the table for the Nix.

Also, Brandon Suggs from Bethune Cookman is transferring. He is a 6'8" player from Rockford, IL. He played one year, would have to sit one and then play 3 more. He is getting interest from UMKC and UIC. His stats at BCU weren't huge but he looks like he has some upside. Not that any GB contact was actually made but Suggs is going to UMKC. Also, congrats to Kanter on graduating. I thought I read in an article he might have to finish up over the summer. Was that not accurate or do they let you walk early if you are finishing in summer session?

I saw a tweet that listed all of the GB athletes who graduated and it didn't include Kanter for some reason. It was put out by GB too.

Such is the case when you speak out against fascist governments. If I were Kerem or Enes, I wouldn't even consider setting foot in Turkey until the fash is taken down.

He's safe now. I just hope his family isn't in harms way back in Turkey.

With Wisconsin hosting Xavier in the Gavitt games and an annual Big East game at Marquette, Kanter will return to the badger state twice this year.
