National Signing Day starts on 11/8 and goes to 11/15. We haven't heard of any verbal commits so I will be very interested to see what happens with 3 spots to fill. We don't know where GB stands with Curtis but it is safe to say they really want him. Otherwise I copied a list from the PhearthePhoenix blog (I hope you don't mind) that has a listing of names GB has been interested in. I deleted names that committed to other schools.
Carlos Curtis | 6’2″ G JC Butler | 6'5" G Markeese Hastings | 6’7″ SF
JJ Flores | 6′ 3″ G | Cardell McGee Jr | 6’0″ G Drew Peterson | 6’6″ F Naseer Turner | 6’6″ F Kaleb Thornton | 6’0″ G Justin Hardy | 6’5″ F Noah Blue | 6’3″ G Ryan Kutsor | 6’4″ G Isa Maguire | 6’10” C Donita Johnson | 6’6″ F DeAndre Heckard | 6’1″ G Quinlan Bennett | 6’3″ G Jaylon Williams | 6’6″ F Hunter Plamann | 6’1″ G Elbert Ellis | 6’2″ G Barlow Alleruzzo | 6’9″ F

Zion Morgan was at Kenwood Academy in Chicago and just completed his freshman year at UNLV. He announced he is leaving UNLV. His stats weren't great and he didn't get a lot of clock there but he is an interesting prospect. He sees himself as a high major player and he has that kind of build but apparently not that kind of skill. He would be a very interesting combo guard for RP40 and with the connection that GB has in Chicago and particular with Manny Patterson I thought I would throw his name on the radar to see if any mutual interest develops. Just closing some loops. Zion Morgan is going to Wabash JUCO. I am pretty sure Zion Morgan tore his ACL and isn't playing JUCO this year from what I read on twitter. If he is open it to it this seems like a good opportunity for a team to take a chance on him and steal a good prospect who could come in next year with 3 years to play. With GB landing players from Kenwood and Wabash Valley in the last recruiting cycle it wouldn't be a total shot it the dark.

Well today is the last day in the fall signing period and currently no players have announced that they signed with GB. I hope that changes, I don't think that is a good sign for the program. If they have to fill 3 spots in the spring that doesn't give them as much time to work on the 19 and 20 classes.

I don't see it as an issue. Darner and Company have proven they can recruit.....they did a bang up job late in the process when they first arrive. That first late recruiting class was better than the group Wardle had sign for that spring. The quality of transfers and jucos has also been outstanding. This current team is so young and will take time to come together. Look for some interesting additions in the mold of Cohen, Schwartz and Cooper types. Darner will also add a big before it's all said and done going into 2018-19.

I don't know if that first class was better than the Wardle guys. Pittman averaged 8 points per game as a freshman. Torres seems to have found his footing, he just had 20 against Purdue (although he followed that up with zero against valpo). Only Okafor totally flamed out.
By comparison that class was Cooper, Hurdle, Jespersen and the Brown twins. It is fair to say the Brown twins kind of flamed out and didn't make much of an impact. Jespersen is better than I give him credit for but not an impact player yet. Hurdle was a nice athlete but his impact wasn't unreal. Cooper was very solid and probably really slowed down last year by injury as he seemed so much less explosive. Jones was a real late summer addition but I wouldn't group him into the spring names on short notice.
It is great that Sandy, Cody and David wanted to come back closer to home. I do worry about the D1 transfer situation being a lifeline as there are only so many guys who are D1 ready who want to come home to GB.

I don't know much about him but could Nick Wagner be a possible recruit? He is from the LaCrosse area and redshirted at NIU his freshman year and is now at Iowa Lakes CC. He can shoot from outside and has decent size for a guard. The little bit of video I have watched makes it hard to tell if his game is D1 or not. It was old, he looked smaller and the opponents weren't that great. He could come in with 3 years to play which is kind of interesting. I am just throwing a name out to see if anyone knows anything about him or if GB has ever been interested. www.niuhuskies.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4175www.iowalakesathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/bios/wagner_nick_7gqx

Nick Noskowiak is still around. He went from Marquette to Iowa State to out for a year to Dodge City CC to Otero CC. He will have two years left to play. Given his high school status I am sure some team will grab him. Didn't a former GB/Linc DoBO go to Otero CC? www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2017-18/div1/players/nicknoskowiak4a2g

With GB having an open scholarship and a steady flow of guys from Chicago here is a mid season transfer that looks interesting and attainable. www.ubbulls.com/sports/mbkb/2016-17/bios/jones_james_vkss?view=bioJames Jones would have 2.5 years to play starting at the end of the fall 2018 semester. He was highly regarded in high school and he looks athletic with some off the dribble game. Based on his game log he started out playing as a freshman but then was used very little down the stretch and not at all this year. So he was either hurt or never really did see eye to eye with Nate Oats. Anyway, something to think about when recruiting news has been slow. Perhaps some of the Illinois based posters have seen him play and know if he has any game or would be a fit for GB.

DPH as a walk on is fine, as a scholarship player I am not sure. I have to bang the drum, GB needs to find someone over 6'9" who can play inside with one of the 2 scholarships. Plus I see Bell doing similar things and he has a lot more eligibility left than DPH does.
