Spann-Ford and Hedstrom have nice size for their positions. It would be nice to land guys like that. Plus it would be good to get guys from the twin cities, this area has been elusive for GB over the years.

With me being kind of new to UWGB basketball, have we ever recruited well in Minnesota? Alec Brown was from there right.
Also looks like Spann could choose to play football as well.

Alec Brown was from Winona near La Crosse and Jeff Nordgaard was from Dawson near the Dakota border. GB tried to get Chop Tang (SP) a few years back but that did not work out. Very good basketball in the twin cities and no other D1 schools besides the Gophers.

Ahhhhhhh....Chop Tang. Never met a shot he didn't like. One guy who would probably not log in an assist in his career....;-)
There is good talent in MSP. It's a place that GB as a program has not taken more advantage of, but there is competition with other mid-major D1 programs like UNI, Drake, UND, NDSU, SD, and SDSU who also recruit quite a bit in MSP and Minnesota at large.

Chop Tang has to be on the all name team. Talent and athletic ability but never bought into the team concept. It was a massive recruiting mistake. It's nice that it is the rear view mirror under a coach who is long gone. (probably should be more blame on the assistant who did the main recruiting of Tang.) I hope CT has gotten things together.

It's been awfully quiet on the recruiting front for the Phoenix this weekend. I wonder what they have been up too...

Is Tang out of jail yet? They did hire an assistant coach who had worked with Tang in the past, that guy was gone as soon as that season was over. It was a risk worth taking IMO, as it turned out Tang was just too big of a ball hog to fit in.

Perhaps they are just going all in on the guys they have already been recruiting in 2018 so we aren't hearing any new names. There are some nice players like Justice or Haliburton who would like very nice in Green!
