Hopefully we can bring in another transfer before the season starts for some more experience for next season. We do have three scholarships available now.

It doesn't seem like this was a good situation for Avery to begin with. After what happened to his brother he should certainly have known better. Something must have really got to him that he got in the situation and then violated his restraining order which is what led to his dismissal.
As for this season well that leaves 10 active players. So everyone is going to get some run. That could be good for chemistry. It could also be bad in case of injuries or if some players aren't up to D1 quality.
I do like that they now have an extra scholarship. I like several of the guards they are recruiting but I also think they need a forward.

With the timing of this exit does it mean the scholarship is burned for the entire school year and can't be used? Marquette faced a similar situation like this with a player exiting as school started. It really screwed over the program and coach. If that's the case at GB it means a scholarship was tied up for three years with minimal benefit to the program or school. I sure wish my teenager had a free ride for three years.

I'm not sure it matters now because since school started you can't get a transfer or anything. The only option is a walk on from someone at school already... Starting year with only 10 players will be tuff because of the schedule and no room for injuries. Not too upset about who they have playing after watching in Puerto Rico in which Brown wasn't even there. They will have 12 for practices and let's hope Sandy will be able to come back in December.

When do these dismissals and transfers (Anderson, Kanter, etc) start to negatively impact GB's academic side of things, similar to what happened to UWM?

These are not academic departures.

Any chance we would ever accept or pursue Anthony Brown

The "Twins" always had the potential just needed to work on the maturity and mental aspects of the game and life.

Looks like Anthony Brown found a home with D2 Lincoln Memorial. Wish he didn't have those issues here at GB. Would've loved to see him develop in Linc's system.
