Looks like he held offers from Illnois, UAB and Xavier before he went to JUCO. I cant seem to find why he went JUCO though. Anybody else find anything?

Looks like he would've played with Khalil in high school, never hurts to have player connections.

If he goes 215 that will give the Nix a player that's a cross between Cooper and Hurdle. He'll have a year of prep and two of JUCO before arriving. That experience will be an asset to a teaming losing six players.

I have been a lurker on this board for years, but I decided to make a conscious effort to be active this year. I love following the UWGB program.
Impressive offer list for Turner out of HS. The few videos I could find of him, the form looks good on the jumper, and he looks to be a plus athlete for the Horizon.
After Playing 21 mpg in year 1 averaging 7 ppg and only shooting 14-73 (19%) from 3 point range, the early '16-'17 signs show he will be workhorse this season. Through 4 games this year (small sample size!), The minutes up to a tick under 30 mpg, 16 ppg, and maybe most importantly, already 10-24 (42%) on 3s. Looks like a breakout candidate to me.
While we are down there, let's grab a teammate of Turner. They have a big (6'6", 225) talented wing name Malik Dunbar also scoring over 16 ppg who looks like a legit D1 player.

I can't profess to be a Paul Turner expert, before yesterday I had never heard of him. I do like his size for the position that he plays and as mentioned his shooting stroke looks good. I would guess based on the stats alone that shot selection may have been an issue for him last year as that percentage was really bad. So far this year more of his shots are coming from deep but he is making twice as many. Based on his stats it looks like inside the line he is a solid scorer, perhaps a Cooper type.
It looked like he was tall as freshman in HS and gathered some big time offers then. I don't know if it was academics or a lack of skill development in high school that sent him to prep school and JC. Either way this is an experienced player who helps balance the class and fills a position of need for GB. Now to get some big guys in the fold...

Turner as already played 8 games and is averaging over 19 ppg thus gar. Great to see the him shooting the ball so well. Shooting 49% (27-55) from deep thus far. Just put up a 45 point performance today (16-21 fg, 7-11 3p). I am starting to feel he will be a good one.

A taller version of Charles Cooper with a better perimeter shot, but not the athlete Cooper is?

Did I just miss the release from GB? I don't recall anything in the paper or on their website. Did he actually sign in time or is it just a verbal?
