I think we are going to get a transfer in with the remaining scholarship or bank it for next year. What is everyone's thoughts?

If they go into next year with only Patterson, Chevalier, Jespersen and maybe Bains or Bell working in the front court I think they are going to be incredibly thin and it might be a tough year for GB. I don't care if it is a JUCO player, a high school player or transfer but they shouldn't plan to start the season with this level of depth up front.
A grad transfer might be nice as then they would still have 3 scholarships to give out for 2018 graduates.
I am curious about Bains and the process to land him. I read in the GBPG article that they just watched him play recently and the process went pretty quick. He might be a great player but having watched TK swing and miss on plenty of guys he didn't watch enough or Rob Jeter almost always having to rely on spring JUCO guys I just hope they didn't get desperate. Obviously the staff has gone all in on guys they wanted and landed them (Anderson or Patterson for example) but I don't know what to make of the recruiting process they use, at times it looks like a shot gun approach with the number of names they talk to briefly.

South Dakota is expressing interest in Nick Fuller. What graduate programs does UWGB offer? I haven't looked in a long time. One potential issue for the grad transfers is that I believe the new school needs to have grad programs that the athlete doesn't have at their current school. Does GB offer anything that Nebraska doesn't?

One potential issue for the grad transfers is that I believe the new school needs to have grad programs that the athlete doesn't have at their current school. Does GB offer anything that Nebraska doesn't? GB has about as few graduate programs as a school can have. Unless you want a masters in education, counseling or earth science, you don't go to grad school at GB. I'm a Marquette grad student and for a school roughly the same size in terms of population, we have far more programs. Hell, there aren't even that many undergrad programs anymore after the gov slashed all university funding. It's a shame, I think offering more opportunities could really benefit the athletic programs. Also, I could be wrong, but I thought that all graduates were immediately eligible, an undergrad may be eligible if they enroll in a program not offered at their previous school. In any case, GB needs to broaden its academic offerings. I had a buddy of mine a few years back who was one semester away from completing his degree in Japanese before the school totally cut the program and he was left without a degree. Things like that aren't the most appealing to a student athlete who takes the "student" part seriously.

He has visited multiple times hasn't he? This has got to be the trip we offer right? While he seems like a nice prospect it certainly feels like GB views him as insurance if a guard leaves or a walk on with a future scholarship opportunity. With GB not going hard after Wampler it would seem that Brown is returning. For that matter are we sure Small is returning? He is already 4 years out of high school and with the transfer up trend going I hope he doesn't have any plans to do so.

The window for transfers is almost over with the he live period starting next week. I would think that would be the window for players leaving and transferring.

Javon Pickett is taking an in home visit with University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the next few days per Roy Schmidt. He was a former Illinois recruit before the coaching change. Would be a good get for the conference.

With the Paul Turner news, I wonder if Linc has reached out to Pickett?

Not sure if Linc was the guy that recruited him to FSC (it may have been right after he left, I'm really not sure), but he is transferring and getting looks from D1 schools. 6-10 PF could be a fit here. verbalcommits.com/players/jarel-spellmanHe committed to Sacred Heart today.
