Depending on your perspective of Khalil Small, Avery Brown and Kam Hankerson will determine if GB needs to use the last scholarship this year. Those are the only guys on the roster I can see handling the ball along with Pipes. I don't see any natural play making point guards in that group. Going back to the TK days he had several teams stall out because of a lack of play makers. I know the style is different now but if you are comfortable with Pipes being the primary and some combination of those other 3 doing secondary work than bank the scholarship. If not, keep digging for another ball handler. An injury at the guard position would really derail the season.
I have only watched one video on Justice, I will have to check out some more. I would guess Justice and Haliburton as a two man class would raise some eyes around the state!

Point guard is my main concern with the roster. Hankerson did get a run at it toward the end of the season and showed some firepower. Avery has mostly played the 2 guard as has Small. While Pipes clearly has some talent there's danger relying on a freshman and that freshman wall that usually hits in early February.
The Nix should be a better rebounding and more athletic team in 2017-18. I'm wondering about three point shooting -- Jesperson may lead the team in shooting percentage from deep followed by Hankerson.
With both Cohen and Schwartz sitting out GB could be shorthanded all around without a contributing walk-on or filling that scholarship opening.
A small footnote: Pipes had scholarship interest from Navy and Parham committed to Army out of high school. These two should help the team GPA.

Virshon Cotton committed to Akron.
Kyle McKinley committed to La Tech. I am pretty sure the La Tech head coach is from Eau Claire which isn't far from where McKinley is from.
I haven't watched Lexus Williams play much, is he any good?
I feel like this roster is need of another true PG to help spell Pipes.

I agree that the Nix need an experienced point guard going into the season. Ideally a senior transfer would buy the time needed to re-establish depth at the position. Darner has shown me he has the ability to deal with setbacks and produce a strong team. The addition of Patterson, Bains, and Parham this spring should not be under appreciated. The past two season the Nix have seen the addition of a player right before the start of the school year. I expect to see that again. There are some quality guards out there looking for a home.

This might be an overstatement but the 2017 recruiting class might make or break Linc Darner in Green Bay. With 9 new players coming in he has an opportunity to really put his stamp on the program. If they have talent and can play the way he wants then this could get really good for GB fans. However, the roster had some unexpected late turnover (Kanter, Turner and Anderson) and were replaced by guys that the staff didn't have a ton of time invested in (Parham, Bains and Crist). To go with that the staff didn't have a long courtship with Cohen and Schwartz so how they fit in with be interesting to watch. Many college hoops fans have witnessed a staff being rushed in recruiting and then ending up with more misses than hits. I like what GB has, most of the guys are the right size for the position they play and almost all of them can shoot from anywhere on the court. Plus you have a number of guys who will be a year older than their eligibility when they play (Brown, Parham, Crist, Bains, Cohen and Schwartz) which is really big for mid majors. I am very optimistic and in a few years we might look back at this class and think this is the group that defined success or failure for Linc Darner in Green Bay. Note that for where I think GB is in the basketball landscape I believe being average is failure.

A transfer from Loyola that looks interesting is Matt Chastain. He was hurt last year so he doesn't have much in the way of stats so I am not sure where he will go but he has great lift on his jumper and seemed pretty explosive for a kid out of small town Illinois. Matt Chastain wanted to go closer to home and will walk on at Illinois State. Loyola will waive any MVC to MVC restrictions so he can play in 2018-19. With him and Bruninga they have two players walk on that I would have liked at GB.

Did anyone see the WBCA all star games over the weekend. I caught a lot of the D1 game. Chevalier has a quick release on his shot. He will need to work on the endurance and strength side of things to be able to play down low.
While not a GB recruit I really liked watching Storm Miller. He is quick and fun, I believe he is going to Wofford.
Kareen Ozier was better than I gave him credit for. He certainly knows how to get separation to get a shot up.
Philip Flory is still uncommitted. He looks like a legit D1 player. He just has the right bounce to his step. While not as big and more mobile on defense he reminded me of Austin Arians to a certain extent. He was up around the rim and had a sweet shot from deep. I actually would really like to see him in a GB uniform. I could see him going to a Prep School or trying to walk on at a high major somewhere. Who knows perhaps he tried to follow Buzz Williams to VA Tech as a walk on.
Finally, I had never watched Chris Knight before. He has a spring in his step that makes him look like a beast among boys. I believe he wants to be a lawyer which explains the Dartmouth commitment. He would have looked great in GB.

Mark Miller tweeted that Phil Flory is going to walk on at Seton Hall. I will be curious to see what kind of PT he can earn in the future, I like his game for the mid major level a lot.
