I heard Ashley Luke tore her ACL and is out for the year. Is Sam Terry hurt as well? Are any of the Freshman redshirting this year?

Ashley Luke is out for the year. Surgery went well and she is starting rehab. It sounds like she would like to return next year. Sam Terry tweaked a knee before the season started. Her first game back today, and she did well - 10pts, 6rebs in 21 minutes in the two point win over Vandy. Both Wolf sisters are red-shirting. Frankie Wirtz is suited up but has not played in the two non-conference games.

Does anyone know why Tesha Buck didn't play against Butler tonight. By the time I got home from work there was only 4 minutes left in the game and she wasn't in the stat lines.

The GB press gazette said she has a lower body injury.

I was at the Kress center yesterday for a boy's high school tournament and some of the Lady Phoenix walked through. One of them had her arm in a sling. Any word on injuries?

That would be one of the Wolf sisters.

Madison Wolf is the one who had the shoulder surgery. Both she, Mackenize her sister & Frankie Wurtz are all redshirting this year. I know Ashley Luke has petitioned for another year of eliigility.

Tesha Buck leaving the program. Sorry to hear this she was one of my favorite players and very talented, but she did not seem very happy last year. I hope she continues her basketball and education. Best of luck to Tesha.
Between this and Monke leaving there is some playing time available and perhaps a scholarship.

Sad to see Buck leave but I'm sure the team will find a way to replace what she brought to the table. Between her & Monke leaving the team certainly got alot younger for next season. I enjoyed watching Buck play but she did look unhappy this season coming off the bench. Body language certain says a great deal about a player.

I don't know who I feel more sad about. Is it GB losing Buck or Buck losing out on her senior year. I cant imagine her receiving a D1 scholarship as she would have to sit out one year and the school would only have her for one year. Regardless the GB women's program will continue with or without Tesha. I just wished she would have stayed and played out her senior year at GB. She in my opinion would have been back in the starting lineup for the 2016-17 season. GB has Drier from Algoma coming in this fall as a preferred walk-on. I would imagine she may receive her scholarship one year sooner now than Buck has left. That would leave one more scholarship available if I am not mistaken. Plus Borseth will have 3 scholarships available for 2017-2018 with Kraker, Weitzer and Terry completing their final year of eligibility after the conclusion of 2016-2017 season. So far two players have verbally committed for 2017 ( 6'2" wing from Verona, WI and a guard from Apple Valley, MN. Oskey (a 5'10" guard
from Seymour) is a 2018. The beat goes on for GB.

Last I heard Ashley Luke was denied a medical red shirt but was appealing it. Does anyone know more details? Could she use one of the scholarships?

Ashley Luke's medical redshirt waiver request is still pending. I doubt Borseth would award Luke with a scholarship. Reason why I say this is because a 2016 recruit Anna Dier from Algoma was coming to UWGB as a preferred walk-on as she was paying her way the 1st year and was to receive a scholarship for 2017. Now with Buck and Monke both leaving I would imagine that Borseth would award one of the scholarships to Dier.*** Looking at the UWGB's 2016 present roster they have 10 players with four new players coming in. Add Luke to the mix Borseth will have 15 players. I would imagine several of the incoming recruits will redshirt, but one never knows. With Monke leaving that should free up some playing time for the Wolf sisters and with Buck leaving that surely should open up some playing time for Wellnitz, James and perhaps Wurtz. A healthy Terry surely would see her playing minutes increase. Borseth sure has his hands full trying to keep so many players happy. Hopefully they all will remain team players and not be in my opinion have the attitude that Buck was showing as the season progressed. 2016-2017 should be another entertaining year and UW Milwaukee, Cleveland State, Oakland, Northern Kentucky and Youngstown will challenge them 2. Go Phoenix. ***never know Borseth could luck out and a transfer drops into his lap much like Northern Kentucky women's program just recently had---a 5'11 guard transfer from Indiana (a player Borseth and Staff at Michigan were recruiting while he was coach there), stranger things could happen...

I wonder what the logic is behind denying Luke's request. She was injured very early in the year. It seems as though they are penalizing her for transferring.
