Huge news for the women's team. Ashley Luke who was here for a season as a redshirt before moving onto Western Illinois has returned to GB for her senior season. Ashley was the victim of too many players & not enough scholarships when Borseth came back to GB in 2012. Ashley's performance at WIU was incredible- over three years she scored over 1500 points- nearly 900 rebounds and the national academic player of the year- even though it's only one season- this definitely makes Green Bay the overwhelming favorite for conference championship #18 in a row (as if there was any doubt).

Ashley is definitely a great addition. This should allow the Wolf sisters more time to learn & grow with the program; perhaps even a red-shirt year for one or both.
As for scholarships, they already have two verbals for 2016-17, which leaves one scholarship in hand.
Also, having been awarded as the host site for the 2016 HL Women's Tournament at the Kress in March is nice, and the Athletics Dept. can plan ahead. But, unfortunately, that's the same time frame as the WIAA Girls State Tourney at the Resch Center, so they'll have their work cut out to increase local attendance. Also, assuming the women do well (first OR second), they would not play until the semi-finals)on Saturday (which is championship night for the WIAA Girls).

Question. From what I have gathered UWGB women's basketball team has four 2016 verbals in Anna Dier(6'1", Algoma); Caitlyn Hibner(6'0", Portage); Karly Murphy(6'1", River Falls); and Meghan Pingel(5'8" Lakeside Lutheran). If I am correct, UWGB will have 12 returning players for the 2016-2017 season. That's 16 players...anyone know what is what regarding GB having that many potential players....? Also GB has received 2017 verbal from Lyndsey Robson(6'0", Appley Valley, MN...she comes from the same AAU team that Buck, Monke and Gilbertson played on).
