The interest in him was from earlier in the Wardle era. I doubt he's a qualifier. Talented player though.

Whatever happened to Jerrelle DeBerry? Have I been living under a rock while he signed somewhere or is he still out there?

Anthony Brown, one of the two brothers that GB has offered was named Florida 6A Player of the Year today. His brother Avery is in the State Finals for track and field on Sat (being in the Finals in FL means you are an incredible athlete). Darner and his staff have been everywhere I heard. I live in Michigan and spoke to an AAU coach here, he said Darner and his asst. was up here 3 days after being named Head Coach and that was his 3rd state that he was in that day looking at players ! Looks like they are scouring the entire country looking for players. The Brown brothers, Charles Cook (looks great on highlights), Bryson Scott (top 75 player in the country by every service in HS), and some athletic Fwd's/big guys would be an incredible recruiting class this late in the season.

Give me Cooper and the Browns and I would rest a little easier without Riley...I still want him though. If we got those four and a big man (6'9'' or taller) I would be extremely happy.

I am watching his highlights.
Good athlete, has basketball sense. Nice touch on his shot. 6'5" and long arms. In the video I don't see much elevation. Like all highlights it's all offense and no defense.
He can score a lot of points. Eight 3's in the first half of a 36 point effort against Kenosha Christian in an 86 - 63 victory this season.
He's been offered by Colgate. Must be a good student.
Also offered: Radford and UNO.
May be a good find!

The laundry list of potential recruits has a common threat of solid athleticism. The only exception seems to be Mooney who is a high percentage shooter, with an outstanding basketball IQ and decent athleticism. The player from Messmer, Dallas Polk-Hilliard, and Jeremy Johnson look like perfect prospect, for Darner's system. In the old days they would be great candidates for a redshirt to give them time to add muscle and learn the system. That was Dick Bennett's approach and it was highly effective. Jeff Nordgaard was an example of that approach. These days a coach runs the risk of investing in a player with a redshirt and having him transfer out for a final season at another school. We'll call that the Cleveland State Syndrome.
I think we'll see some LOI's at the very end of the signing period. Long time fans will remember that is when Nordgaard committed. (Most coaches thought he would play football in college.) Bennett and Company knew differently. The fact that Nordgaard came from a distance corner of Minnesota helped.
I'm wondering if Charles Cooper will wait until the very end to make a commitment? He has visited three school and on Twitter I keep seeing a posting saying -- hey this guy is still available. It would seem a player would do better with a program where he is truly wanted rather than a school where the scholarship offer is really a last minute flyer.
Coach Darner needs at least two athletes who can contribute immediately. At Green Bay -- Cooper has the potential to be the leading scorer and basically the go to guy with a decent supporting cast. That is a showcase for a future pro career. The question for him might be what other school offers that kind of opportunity?

I agree with what Mocfan had to say about Dallas. I would add that he seems more crafty than explosive and he played bigger than his size. He will need to add some muscle to be really solid over all 4 years in the system. It is hard to say if he will be a guard or a forward with his current size and skill set.

I think the DeBerry ship has long since set sail. I think he is a very good player, perfect for GB but I also keep hearing that he is a wildcard off the court. With a year in prep school under his belt did he not get solid offers or not get solid grades leading him to Indian Hills?

Intriguing.....
Based on the prospects we have talked about on this board, which 4 would you sign?.....I will leave one open scholarship in the event Linc finds another post player or combo forward before the end of the signing period, but I wouldn't put it past Linc to get 5 perimeter players in this class.
My 4 choices are with an asterisk......
Charles Cooper (JC)* Dallas Polk-Hilliard* Joe Mooney * (if Linc goes with 5 G's for this class and can't find a viable big man) Bryson Scott - Junior transfer from Purdue; eligible in 16-17 Jeremy Johnson Avery Brown* Anthony Brown*
We will need athletes like Cooper and Polk-Hilliard if Linc will employ a more 3 guard set. The Brown brothers will provide depth at PG since C-Love is the only guy we have. Mooney would also be a good add especially with his shooting. I know we are holding out hope for some post player prospects but I don't see it happening. If Linc starts signing some of these prospects this weekend, I can see Scott cooling his interest in GB since we will have a glut of guards coming in.
