Women get a win over Valpo today to go to 11-3 in the Horizon. Two games left in the season and we've got a one game lead, own the tie breaker against second place Wright State and play Oakland (7-7) and Detroit (3-11) at home to close the regular season. The pathway to a 16th straight HL crown is in sight!

For as young as this team is and for as good as the Horizon League has gotten over the past two years, what this team has accomplished this year is amazing. Everyone (especially the media) wrote them off as non-contenders in a rebuilding year, and now here they are contending for a title. The growth of the young players on this team just in this season is incredible, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tesha Buck, Kaili Lukan, Mehryn Kraker or even Sam Terry turn into the next Julie Wojta/Adrian Ritchie/etc. Keep it going ladies!

There is no margin for error this season, but since they have been in almost a tournament mentality since mid season, I can see them going a a run through the HL tourney and making life diffucult for whatever high seed they may draw in the NCAA's.

Kim Demmings was TERRIBLE against Green Bay last year despite all the hype, but this year she figured things out against us. I'm not the least bit disappointed in today's result. The media did a GREAT job of telling everyone how bad this team was going to be and wrote/reported every story with the angle of "Omg, Adrian/Lydia/Steph/Sarah/Jenny are gone!" and how this year was going to be a tough, rebuilding year. Instead, this team grew so fast and showed us how exciting the future will be for this team. Nothing to be ashamed of for making it to the title game of the tournament in a year when we weren't supposed to do anything. Hold your heads high ladies, and kick some butt in the WNIT!
