Just wanted to point out some things that happened in the game starting with the situation regarding GBPhoenix1 post.
Valpo had Dority ready to check in the game and he was sitting at the scorers table for quite a bit when the Valpo coach called timeout to get him and the big Indiana transfer in the game. The guy at the scorers table then incorrectly said that Dority never came to the table, despite the fact that you could clearly see him sitting next to the table. The Valpo radio guy is also their sports information guy and he went down to illustrate that Dority was in fact at the scorers table. Drew called the timeout to get Dority in the game, so when he was told that Dority couldn't come in, he was upset. It was a clear mistake by our scorers table and I think Valpo had every right to be upset in that particular moment. Did it factor into the end result? No.
What is funny is that when we went down to Valpo this year, one of our guys that sits at the scorers table (not sure if it was a broadcaster or the sports information guy) nearly got in trouble for running down the table and screaming about something. I think he was upset about the floor.
The game was awful physical last night, but we were ready for it. While Valpo probably has a legitimate claim about some of the home cooking, we were the better team. All I can say is thank god Broekhoff isn't there anymore. I'm happy with our title this year, but I stil can't shake the memory of Alec tanking that free throw and us losing on the final shot.
Unsung heroes of the night were Vince and McKinnie. I'm starting to feel something special and it's got me hoping that we draw Jason Kidd in the first round. Two wins away from the NCAA!
