www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.phpWhat suprises me is GB is the only Horizon League team. Summit and Mid-Ameican each has 2 teams? I do understand the Ivy league and Missourri having multiple teams but only 1 Horizon league team. Harvard jumps to #2 after Tournament Win in Alaska. Youngstown state is now ranked 2 weeks in a row.

I think too many people don't know what to make of the HL this year so they spread the votes out. Seven of the nine teams received votes with only UIC and uwm missing.
In the HL alone, three teams had wins over teams ranked ahead of them. CSU over Iona, Valpo over Murray State and YSU over E. Kentucky. By the way I didn't rate YSU very highly in my preseason picks but I was impressed with their 3 D1 wins over the weekend. I know two of the teams aren't that good but they still went 3-0 and picked up one decent mid major win. In the past YSU has started well and faded late, lets see if they can avoid that again.
Also, I am pretty sure Ohio beat N. Iowa which would be a mid major upset based on that poll.
There are 4 teams in the top 25 that will be in Alaska. I thought I saw on twitter that Harvard had one of their better players get hurt over the weekend, not sure of his status.

Should be a good test to see how we stack up Friday. We either play Harvard rated 5th or Denver rated 16th on Friday.
It also looks like the game Thursday could be tough. See below from Pepperdines website. Nov. 25, 2013
Game Notes
MALIBU, Calif. -- The Pepperdine men's basketball team, off to its best five-game start since 2004-05, will face some of its biggest challenges of the non-conference season at the Great Alaska Shootout. Play begins for the Waves on Thanksgiving night against Green Bay in a CBS Sports Network telecast.
GAME #6 -- Thursday (November 28) at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska: Pepperdine (4-1) vs. Green Bay (2-1) at 5:30 p.m. AT / 6:30 p.m. PT.
GAME #7 -- Friday (November 29) at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska: Pepperdine vs. Denver (0-2) or Harvard (4-1). If the Waves are playing in the winners' bracket, the game is at 8 p.m. AT / 9 p.m. PT. If Pepperdine drops into the losers' bracket, the game is at 2 p.m. AT / 3 p.m. PT.

Green bay climbs to 12 in Midmajor poll. UWM jumps from not rated to 19 and Youngstown falls 1 place to 22. It's hard to argue with UWM being rated they've really turned things around this year.

GB remained #7 in the Mid-Major Poll 2nd week in a row. Point wise they are closer this week to #6 but didn't have enough points to move up again.

Duke is my favorite college for basketball, other than GB as I went to GB, but this win over Virginia for the Nix are looking very good right now.

GB falls to 6 in Mid-Major poll. The good part is it could have been worse and we stayed a 12 seed in projections for NCAA Tourney. Need a strong finish with no let downs. Glad to see Alec back.
