Nix back on the road versus a solid mid-major in Tennessee Tech. Tough match-up for GB as TTU plays small and quick and guns 3s, similar to Youngstown St or Cal St Fullerton. GB has had trouble matching up with those teams. The team really needs a win to tonight. They have played better ball the last 2 games.

Nix up 2 at the half. Nick Arenz with solid minutes tonight. Both teams with foul trouble.

How can this team be performing worse than last year? There is plenty of talent and Alec Brown has a big upside. As I posted at the end of last season, you may have a coach who didn't sufficiently pay his dues before getting the top job. He does seem like a very likeable guy but the results just aren't there.

They need to be able to win some of these games, even on the road. Brown has to stay out of foul trouble and they need someone to hit some three point shots. Cerroni has been M.I.A.
Cougill has played well, why so few minutes.
Mayes also played only 7 minutes. Is his defense costing him minutes?
Arenz continues to improve. He is just now rounding into form after his injury in high school.

I was able to watch this game and felt the Nix stayed in it until the very end. Tennessee Tech shot the lights out on closely contested three pointers.
Cerroni's shot hasn't been there so far this season and Brown may be feeling the pressure of all the NBA talk. Coug had a warrior game and once some of the new players setttle in this team will be a tough out. Fouse with nine rebounds.
TT is a torunament team. If their three point shooting is as good as last night they can play with anybody.

Alec and Kam seem to be out of it like you said. Don't know what it's going to take to get them going? Someone said a while back they don't like Love and Sykes together in the back court, after yesterday I agree. Fouse was a animal on the boards just waiting for the offense to come around. BC just continues to just get it done. We'll see in a week how Milwaukee handles them at home. I believe they play them around the 15th. TT can really shoot, coming out and hitting 5 in a row to start the 2nd half hurt.

This loss hurts. This is the kind of game GB has to win if they want to do anything this year. TT isn't a tournament team, they might only be the 4th best team in their league. That isn't to say they aren't good, just that it was a winnable game. I know the home team wins a lot in college hoops but GB sucks on the road. How can that be every year? What is Wardle doing to get them ready?
I can't stand that Alec Brown plays so tenatative. Sure he was overrated coming in to the season but has been an after thought in most games and really regressed.
BC had a nice offensive game but he struggles to defend and rebound at times. He is a senior, he shouldn't have lapses.
It seems like so much of the offense lately is coming from guys making plays individually. Sykes has been solid at this and BC shows flashes. Everyone else can't really get a good look and this team has a ton of guys who don't have the skills yet and may never get those skills to make individual offensive plays.
Long story short this is about as depressed as I have been in 17 years of being a Phoenix fan. I don't know what they need to do as players and coaches but 3-5 (with only one decent win and losses to several average teams) and an RPI under 300 is not acceptable. Wardle and staff might be able to recruit but lets see some meaningful wins. If things continue at this pace, GB better cut ties early and try something else. The window is open to finally dance again with a weak Horizon League.
I don't expect a win at UW and I no longer expect a win against Marquette. However, they better at least play some decent basketball!

I'd cringe to see how low we could have gone if we had lost THAT game.
