I wouldn't trust that Tulsa guy, He doesn't even live in Oklahoma. ;-) So even though his dad is getting degree in England he might not be the England guy. One scholarship left. How big of a team will this team be? When I was manager 5 years ago there was only 15 lockers in the kress. It has been redone but I haven’t really seen the back locker area like counted if they added more they have to if there adding like 20 guys this year.

Based on the interviews from coach, it would seem that the last scholarships are the unnamed and unknown position player from England and a PG from Australia. The Eastern European player he mentioned could be the PG from Poland that they didn't offer. The guy from England hopefully brings some bulk. In one of the interviews he said he a point guard committed.

x.com/wilkins_caden/status/1809588361109090644Some high majors including Marquette, Clemson and Wisconsin had been talking with Wilkens. His mom played at Northern Iowa. Caden Wilkins, 6-7, Sr., Bettendorf The top-ranked player in the state by Prep Hoops, Wilkins is an elite level scorer and rebounder. As a junior, he averaged a double-double of 19.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, earning second-team Class 4A all-state honors. At the halfway point of this season, his numbers are down a bit, to 16.6 points and 5.4 rebounds, but Wilkins can score from anywhere on the floor and is dishing out 3.3 assists a game and shooting just under 50 percent from the field. A number of major Division I schools are showing interest in the Bettendorf star. highschool.si.com/iowa/2024/02/01/iowas-best-high-school-boys-basketball-players-meet-the-states-top-small-forwards

If your banking a scholarship for him I understand. Is he a 2024 or 2025? Kyle malzahn tweeted like another player for this year crazy had high major interest. If he’s this year. 17 player this year. The locker room is remodeled must be more lockers since I was there five years ago. #1 senior in state of iowa. This team is loaded with talent. Hopefully can keep some of it for next year. Wow lots of size. But unconventional. 5 out offense like Jay wright you might use Emanuel or muo as small ball 5.

Coach G is clearly going for a big roster that has guys for now and guys for the future.
I would not read too much into that high major interest for Caden. From the little bit I watched I see a high skill player that isn't the most athletic. I see him as a development player for this year that could contribute in the future as he gets used to going against bigger or more athletic players.
He is an intriguing longer term prospect at this point in the summer, welcome to UWGB!

A scholarship is open? Coach Gottlieb said in an interview he ha d a point guard that committed recently he didn’t say what class. There’s are so many players on the team. Maybe bank a scholarship but it doesn’t mean as much because players transfers maybe coach Gottlieb will be able to keep these players raise the 1965 fund and get better nil deals for players.

Offers from Bryant, eastern Illinois, Indiana state. I mean maybe not known visits or whatever. If he’s get stronger can really be good shooter scorer that could be a really good player for uwgb.

Because that high major interest didn't turn into high major scholarship offers. Plenty of players show promise at younger ages but don't break through to the next step.
Miranda, Johnson and Santoro are guys that when they hit the court we will see the physical difference that makes those guys high major players. For Caden he is starting at the correct level, I just don't see him as a high major steal.

Getting the #1 senior from Iowa has to mean something. He has the offers from Bryant,Indiana state, eastern Illinois good programs. Sandy cohen came from Marquette and cody Schwartz had a Marquette offer out of high school. Miranda played in 3 games. There was nothing in those 3 games compared to his smaller teammates that said he was more dominant.
Jeremiah Johnson is a guard. At 6’3 so physically I don’t see I’m more defensively then Rudy who’s been playing great defense for years.

A few things about recruiting, it is not a science, young people develop/grow physically at different rates and EQ is a massive factor in success. Recruiting is an art, not a science. Much of success depends on the environment -- the person, place and timing -- the chemistry of the environment. There's also a psychological factor involved in all of this. A skilled teacher/mentor changes lives. We're about to see what the mix of coaching mentors and players can do. Exciting times

Watch any video from his SR year, it is obvious why he didn't get offers at that level. He is a very smart and extremely skilled player that is not athletic enough for a high major scholarship. Miranda can get rebounds near the top of the box. Johnson can drive past any guard on the GB roster. Santoro can shoot over the other guys at his position. It doesn't mean they are dominant, it just means their ceiling is high enough for high majors to bring them in. He has an excellent opportunity to be a good mid major player. He is at an appropriate level to start with and that isn't an insult to post it here.

It would seem they have one more spot to fill now that Tweedy has been added to the roster.
With no announcement of Emmanuel James I would guess he is not attending UWGB.
An experienced big man would be would be a good fit for the roster IMO. There are still some guys that are available that could make an impact.
