Cole Henry is a solid addition to the roster. His stats aren't going to blow anyone away. He does have good size and good skills. I can see him being a solid veteran for the Phoenix.

Well this topic was timely, Cole Henry should have a solid impact for this team next season. I’ve been out of town the last couple of days. Did I miss some news?

Seems like a solid pick up for GB. I don’t know how I feel about this one. I feel like Sunny’s MO is going after guys no one else wants. That may have worked his first year but after his success he should be able to do a little better than a guy who barely played. I’d rather see him go after a guy that scored a lot but is coming off an injury or something. That said I’m glad he at least got someone with some beef. Hopefully this guy is more like of a down low presence and less of a Rich Byrne.

Numbers don't always tell the story. Putting together a team is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Henry is the son of a coach, he is intelligent, well versed in fundamentals and mature. He will be a leader on this team, a big brother to the younger guys. One of the strong aspects of his game is passing and that should help get open looks for the team's outside shooters. I saw an interview with Henry from a couple of years ago. He is well spoken and super polite. That suggests to me his parents raised a young man who has his life together -- an asset in a group of young men coming of age as people and players. I posted this video in the recruiting section but will repost here.

His career fg% is 54.6, so he definitely does any scoring at the rim. He does handle the ball on the perimeter which the GB big men did a lot of last year. I'd imagine Wicks would love to get get big guys that jump off the page but that isn't going to happen with big guys for mid majors with limited NIL. Faizon Fields looked pretty good last year and he was 5 pt and 4 board guy off the bench for Old Dominion the year before.

Why wouldn’t uwgb have been in the mix for Jackson paveltzke? He’s from Kimberly? Pearson he’s only got a uwgb offer? Pickets had two visits. Henry commits on Sunday. Hernandez has a visit on Saturday. Esseigan had another visit to Indiana today. Paveletzke visited GB on Monday, picked Ohio on Wednesday.

There are interesting transfer Wisconsin bigs Gus Yalden who looks like Antshak. Leon bond. And Patrick Suemnick. Even the guys there looking at the international guys Milos from the d2 school and Jovan siu. There skilled. Danilo jonakovich from Louisville who’s from Milwaukee could bring shooting as a big.

Portal closes soon, saw a WFRV interview with Sunny where he’s very bullish on the team’s portal prospects. Hoping they get a flurry of guys and quickly, or perhaps some of the guys have decided to stay, I’d honestly be fine with Antshak and Jones coming back along with Noah. I like CC3 as a player but I think we’ve kinda seen what he is and I think a more consistent upgrade to play on the wing is necessary.
I will say, Cole Henry looks like a fine get for a rotational/situational defender, but I’m holding out for actual athleticism and explosiveness the team has been lacking for years, as opposed to the “scrappy, lunch pail, first one in and last one out of the gym guys,” (what could this possibly be a euphemism for?!). Where are guys like Manny Ansong? Even Kam Cerroni was more athletic than a lot of the guys that have come thru recently and he was best known for his shooting.

I don't think Cole Henry is going to suddenly be an all conference player. I am expecting him to produce in the Cade Meyer range though.
Like Cade he isn't a great outside shooter but he has good footwork down low and at a minimum enough athletic ability for the HL.
With 5 spots to go the team definitely needs to find another ball handler and an impact scorer.
Bond and Jovanovich haven't been perimeter threats in college so far. Bond has done some decent work against low and mid majors, while Jovanovich is more of a wildcard based on past stats.
I think Bond is about the same stuff that Wicks is. I think he is an athletic, big wing who plays defense. He would be a nice addition for sure.
Suemnick and Scott Ebube are other big guys in the portal that at least have some connections to the staff or region. Both would be good in the HL and both have limitations that probably keep them from being all conference guys.

Yes the portal closes soon no one else is going anywhere. Yalden is like Antshak. Augilard like cc. Luke Hartle played football in high school quarterback so probably good passer probably tough kid 2,000 point scorer in high school would be interesting. Bring back 3 guys? Noah, Antshak, and jones seems unlikely?

In the new Kyle Malzahn article he said Logan Pearson is close to making a decision. And uwgb is in the final teams. That would be huge I think. Still would need another big a Yalden a Antshak coming back or jones coming back whatever that is.

Chucky Hepburn just entered the portal……No, I don’t think GB is on his list of teams but UW is now looking for an experienced PG who can score…..Sounds like a certain GB PG who’s in the portal right now.

Wisconsin went after Noah Reynolds last year don’t know about this year? So to be clear uwgb won’t look at chucky Hepburn why?
