Scottie Ebube officially to Wyoming. The Nix have 8 open scholarships currently. Really liked him as a player in theory, but from the sounds of it, Doug wants a way more up tempo style and he probably wouldn’t have fit too well. Very thankful to have Henry’s scholarship open again.

I’d be shocked if we got a single true freshman because virtually all of those kids worth anything are already committed elsewhere. It’s gonna be a lot of juco and international guys.

Coach Gottlieb has been at a lot aau tournaments in like Florida and Los Angeles this weekend? From what coach Gottlieb and like those tournaments posted of him being there. I get he could be there for future. But with 8 scholarships open. They could be juco tournaments.
There not international tournaments.

Brock heffner and Terrance Thompson are in the transfer portal any chance at them? I think Brock Heffner committed to a D2 school out west in early May. I would be surprised if Thompson returned to GB. I am not sure if he is the type of big man coach is looking for.

Army has been activated... No commits and one assistant hire. Interesting. I'm not worried yet. Wicks had a few days head start and so far all he has are coaches from GB and players that were going to come to GB. If we are sitting here in early June with the same situation I will be right there with you sounding the alarm.

Technically two assistant coach hires. I don’t know if he bring in a player development coach would be a cool what he what do with that. A former nba player.

It definitely sounded like a focus was to keep players currently on the roster - which makes sense given that the team was pretty good last year by the end even without Noah and that it would be hard to find an entirely new roster at this point in the year. I’d say that’s been pretty successful so far. We haven’t seen a mass exodus. Whether that’s because of the current coach convincing them to stay or the previous coach bringing in the types of players that really want to be here is debatable. I will say I’d love to get DJ back. Keeping him would be big.
Rudy, Foster, and Marcus have all proven to be solid players, and possibly more, at this level. We can definitely win games with those kinds of players. I feel good about Mac and Bennett staying and the potential they have. We obviously needs some size yet. With Gottlieb’s style some International bigs would probably fit very well. Now to see if he can actually get them to come to GB…

Brock was playing for D2 University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Of all the former players under Will Ryan, he had the best stat lines and was definitely a scorer. If he hasn't already committed somewhere else, a solid 6'8" scorer from maybe 75 miles down I-43 would be a nice (repeat) addition to the GB roster. He averaged 13 pts / 5 boards per game for a team that went 7-21.

Sure, those were his averages, but he made many mind boggling, minimal IQ decisions on the court and was maybe the 5th best player on an awful team. Again, this team needs to aim higher.

5th? Who was better Cade? 8 open scholarships it can’t be a long process? And filling the assistant coach position. Or if there is another player development coach.

He was where he belonged last year on a bad D2 team. He can’t shoot, which didn’t keep him from shooting far more than his share of shots. He couldn’t play defense at the D1 level. The only reason he left the faintest positive impression here was because the rest of the team was so terrible it was easy to be better than them. I have zero interest in ever seeing him throwing up wild shots again.

Now let's give credit where credit is due. Brock had a fun hair style, managed to irk every opposing team/fan base and in the midst of his legendary performance in Freddie's win at UWM he played well, waived good bye to the fans and yelled this is our house as he ran off the court. It is hard for me to not see that as a bright spot in what was a dark time.
His consistency was not there but when he was plugged in and turned into the on position he had some really fun moments.
I have no clue what school he went to but given that no other D1 schools looked at his film and thought they would like to have him probably means he is at the right level.
