Biggest disappointment is crowd. Valentines Day. Does the athletic department not have some type of sponsorship they could tie in to promote this? Wednesday night. Minimal high school basketball. Just poor all around. Could have used one of the end zones for couples. I thought the officiating was shitty. Hand check call late when Northern has forearms and two hands on every drive. They were much more aggressive on defense than Green Bay yet foul difference wasn't much different. Jones picked up two BS calls. Green Bay needs an athletic 5. That's where the lopsided difference was. Eames and Byhre were non-existent. On the floor biggest disappointment was easy dunks for Itejere. Career 50% free throw shooter at Marquette and Northern. Use those fouls by the bigs and make him earn it. Good fight by the Phoenix just way too many empty possessions down the stretch and off balance 3s as shot clock was going down. I would guess they draw another 1500-2000 if this game is played today. I know a lot goes into scheduling that we don’t see. But this game was competing with Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday. No offense, but is someone’s wife going to want to go to a nice dinner or a gb game on Valentine’s Day? Let’s use our brains horizon league. Do a nice dinner another night? Just a thought.

Ummm...are you married? Do you like sleeping on the couch? I sorta liked the 6 p.m. starts initially but they shouldn't start on a weeknight until 6:30 at earliest. I'm old enough to remember some 7:30 and 8 p.m. games at the Arena in the Bennett days. People want to get home from work and get dinner, not eat hot dogs at the Resch.

Yeah I would prefer we go back to the 7PM tips during the week as well.

The team has 12 true home games (D1 opponents at Resch or Kress). One of those is an 11am game focused specifically on kids. So 11. It's not like people are trying to make a half-season for the Bucks. I am married. Live an hour away. Make at least 5 games a year.

Also married my friend and I went to the game last night with 3 buddies while my wife sat at home. I’m also a die hard fan. Just saying casuals (who make up the section of the crowd that exceeded 2,400) aren’t showing up on valentines. Pretty common sense

Congrats to you guys for having understanding spouses.
Yeah, I'm not complaining. Just pointing out factors why people choose not to come with certain circumstances.
I didn't think it was a good look for Sunny to whine about the crowd size in his post-game comments. His job is to coach the team not tell people how they should spend their increasingly stretched dollars in today's economy. Many people can likely afford only a game or two a year if they want to being their kids. But what do I know?

Head Coach of a first place team pleading for the community and greater area to come out and support in final home weekend.
That's his job.
He's literally flipped this whole thing.
All he's asking for is the best support the program can get and deserves in their final home weekend just before conference tourney.

Maybe it IS the best support the team can get right now in a tough economic climate while playing at 6 p.m. on a Hallmark and church holiday. He has done a helluva coaching job but it wasn't a good look. Wait for the emotion of the game to wear off next time.

I think lots of things in this thread can be true at the same time.
The games should start at 7pm on a weeknight. I think a 7pm start on Wednesday helps people pick more than one thing instead of one or the other.
I think GB didn't have much of a plan to promote the game. They had a promo deal but I didn't see it weeks ago and repeatedly. I could be wrong but it felt like an oh shit we need to do something effort.
Wicks absolutely should say something about attendance. The team has been winning, the atmosphere has been good and the team has earned the support. I suspect his comments have more to do with selling out the last two games at the Kress and making sure people know the team needs them.
Overall, I understand this issue on Wednesday and I see no such issue for the three remaining home games. If fans really want this, there is no better time than now to show it.

Overall, I understand this issue on Wednesday and I see no such issue for the three remaining home games. If fans really want this, there is no better time than now to show it. Very good points. The promotional schedule was released a few weeks before the season. On that schedule it said they would have a special Valentine’s Day ticket promotion. It didn’t say what the deal was. I had to message the AD on Twitter last week to ask about the details. He said details would be coming on Monday (two days before the game). Now why wait until two days before the game to have the details out? That makes no sense to me. Also, in terms of the actual promotion. It was for the courtside risers and Michelob club. It was a great deal of $20 and $25 respectively. The issue is the courtside risers are such a small amount of seats available. Why not add onto this promotion and do some type of discount for the main bowl seats? I understand there is a fine line for them to make the money they need. But as we all know promotions will usually bring more people in and will offset the full value price. I also noticed another interesting thing this year. There have been two games so far that have had the $3 beers that were not on the promotional schedule. The program did tweet out about it which was good but why not have it on the schedule 3 months in advance so the maximum amount of people know about it? Unless they do that if they need to get rid of beer or something? These are all small things I noticed, but every little bit of promotion helps get even a few more people to the games. Interested to hear your thoughts

Let’s compare this season with arguably the best team GB has had in the last 25 years, which was the 2013-2014 team. On February 5th 2014 they played UIC on a Wednesday night and drew 2700. And guess what, a month later the Resch was sold out for the Horizon League semi final. Less people go to events in the middle of the week, that’s really all there is to this. Had this weeks game been on a Saturday (and also not on Valentine’s Day), 4000+ in the Resch wouldn’t have surprised me.
