If Wicks isn't planning on running the offense exclusively through the post, and I don't think he does, then it makes sense for Cade to find a new home. Cade is a rugged post scorer but hasn't shown other avenues of scoring.

These days such decisions have to be made quickly.

I'm sad that it didn't work out for these guys in GB.
I have no clue why each player has chosen to leave but I wish them well.
I'd guess GB is far from done with roster attrition.

Like some of you sad it sucks it didnt work out for these guys but I am not going to get too upset with any of them leaving. Just coaching and style of play isnt going to make a 3 win team all of a sudden good. We need new players and it looks like that is happening.

This is disheartening. Meyer and Short were the only guys worth keeping and both are gone.
I really dislike the new college basketball. Being able to transfer without penalty is an absolute joke.
With how high energy Sunny is I’m really surprised both left. They must like quiet coaches who don’t coach and don’t say anything like Ryan.

I remember after the Robert Morris home game saying that I wouldn’t care if the entire team transferred. I stand by that. Are there a select few players I wouldn’t have minded seeing how they develop in GB? Sure. But these players brought us to the lowest point in program history. I’d much rather see what Wicks can do with players he chooses to bring in rather than players he’s stuck with.

Most likely Zane Short is not staying. But who else is leaving does anyone know who else might be leaving? Out of Brayden, ryan, brock,Amari, and Jack?

Wishing the departed well. The past 3 years have been a nightmare for everyone -- players, coaches, and fans. There's a lot of ownership for that to go around. The only way to build is to find those who will take buy-in totally -- nothing less is acceptable. I imagine many of the players on the 22-23 roster didn't want to hear that they were responsible for a percentage of the trainwreck. If I was in their situation I might opt out too, that is the easiest path if not the best for each individual. This is all part of the player's journey to adulthood. www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/1%20Corinthians%2013%3A11

I don't disagree about the new coach needing to bring in better talent, but I would have liked retaining some size. With a new coach, turnover is to be expected. Nationwide, I had expected the transfer rate to decline as players began to realize, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence, but that does not seem to be the case. I think we will get an interesting read on the new coach by the level of player he is able to attract from the transfer portal. I expect guards will be easier to find than quality big men.

The new Nix coaching staff will be able to offer a unique chance for playing time. The biggest drawback will be not getting everyone together until the summer term begins. Name tags will be required and campus maps will be handed out.
It might be helpful at this point to start a thread listing who is still on the roster.

It does not surprise me that Don is leaving. He was the only player that came out in support of Ryan. The question that comes to mind is if they liked Ryan so much, why didn't they play harder for him. There was no improvement with the team. That is all I was looking for as a fan and that the team was more competitive by seasons end. Well that never happened. So maybe coach Wicks was right and they do need to take responsibility for the season. They let coach Ryan down and the entire coaching staff down. Good luck to all.

I honestly have no idea how many scholarship players are left on the roster haha
