16 points and down 25 at half? I didn’t think it would be statistically possible to have zero assists in a half of basketball. The Phoenix may have to work on teamwork and shooting. Let’s get ‘‘em in the 2nd half!

Which makes it all the more funny when people on here used to cry that “RP40 iS giMmiCk BaLL!!!!1!” Yeah sure, at least we scored and won sometimes and there was at least some semblance of entertainment to be extracted as a spectator. That wasn’t basketball? No, THIS isn’t basketball. |

Take a deep breathe and exhale, repeat as needed. The players just need to end the season and the program needs a total reset. I can only imagine what everyone of these young men and the two remaining coaches are feeling. The team has reached ground zero -- with that is opportunity for some players and the new coaches. There is only one direction for the program to go from here.

I don't take any joy in seeing them lose and looking terrible doing it.
For those that wanted Will fired and Freddie to take over, that isn't looking like a good take right now.
They tried to do some different things but they built a team that isn't built for winning. There isn't much that can be done in the season to fix this.
It makes me sad to think it is possible the team will lose 30 games in a season and finish as the worst team in D1.
I don't know how many more new all time low points they can set. At some point you would think they would get a bounce back up from crashing down so hard.
The best I can tell, Will was fired when he was to just shut the hate talk down. It was clear he wasn't coming back and so there was no point in letting the negativity linger on. If this keeps going like this a lot of that negativity will resurface and the last month of the season won't be any more enjoyable than had they done nothing. This sucks.

Free parking and a $5 ticket and got to watch a team play hard and smart for 40 minutes. What a treat. If UWGB doesn't beat IUPUI next week then sadly a 30 loss season is likely. Amazing really. |

This morning on the KenPom site, we are 362 out of 363, with IUPUI moving ahead of us now at 360. We don't have another game until them next Saturday, while they play today (Sunday) and Thursday before us on Saturday. It was hard yesterday seeing Amari Davis steal the ball from Cummings, run down the court and dunk it. I have had a hard time getting the Cummings botched layup versus Robert Morris out of my mind - a play that should be so simple, so exciting, a massive dunking opportunity turned into a jump-off-the-wrong-leg missed open layup. But this is who we are. |

I look forward to the day where this team plays competitive basketball again.
Watching these games I don’t know how they only lost to Wisconsin by 11 and Oregon st by 9
This is not a d-1 team right now. I don’t care what Ryan or anyone says this school can recruit d-1 players. There are a lot of d-1 schools in the middle of nowhere they have success and gb used to be one of them. Yes there’s NIL and transferring now but those are just excuses not to succeed. We need a coach who doesn’t make excuses.
Darner and Ryan made excuses. That is why they ended up with the results they got.
It will be nice when they have a team that at least gives you false hope they can win a game. This team is nowhere close to that right now unless they play IUPUI.
Last two years they at least lost some heartbreakers. That I’m used to with this program. Getting their heads blown off every game I am not. Even in the darkest days of the Heidmann era it wasn’t like this night in and night out.

We don't get to hear much in the media about GB hoops anymore. So I'm asking this in all sincerity.
Was Will Ryan really saying he couldn't get players to come to GB? I've heard him say his players were much less experienced and that eventually they would be the old dudes in the league. If he was saying you can't get players then yeah that kind of talk has to stop with the next person. This program has turned out plenty of pros under several different coaches and that should be the case again in the future.

All we heard when he was hired was his confidence in “building a fence” around the state. I did hear him bemoan how difficult it is to get guys to stay in the NIL/free transfer era, but never that he couldn’t get guys in the door at all. |

“Putting a wall around Wisconsin” seems like a philosophy from a different era. These days with the portal, you can get players from wherever. And it may be necessary to do so because you can always lose guys too.
